Weekly Diary

Hello guys! Time for my weekly diary! One day late, but I hope it's okay! If you follow me on Instagram (fashionistainthedark_blog) you might have seen a few of these pictures already. I try to have some new ones on the blog every week though.

I have been working a lot this week, I am super tired, even on this Monday, and of course I went to school. I haven't had much time for the blog, but next week is calmer so I'll get it right by then.

I always have lipstick on my soda can. ALWAYS! The perks of being a pin-up girl...?

Fuzzy socks! Warm and soft, just what I need in times of painful feet!

A little something daddy got me! Yay! He does this every once in a while and I am so thankful for that, even though I don't always say it.

Comparing some makeup products... I love doing this! I do think these four colours look a like as well!

My favourite lipsticks for fall - don't worry, the pictures are taken with flash so in real life they're not that bright!

Busy busy busy! This is this weeks planning!

Lunch! Nom nom nom! Spaghetti!

That's it! This is what happened last week! How was your week? Did you have fun?

Essence Stay Matte lipcream in "Velvet Rose"

Hi! No weekly diary today! I had a super busy weekend and I wasn't able to upload all of the pictures and tell you about all of them. I'm sorry about the delay and I hope you understand. I'll try to have it up by tomorrow, at last on Wednesday.

Today I have another lipproduct to review for you. It's a lovely pink Essence Stay Matte Lipcream. I have bought one before called "Silky Red" and I was stunned! Here's the link to my review, in case you want to read that: Essence Stay Matte lipcream in "Silky Red"

What's so different about this "lipcream" is that this is a lipgloss that actually looks matt after applying it. Don't you just love that idea?! I know I do!
The lipcream that I got this time is called "Velvet Rose". Like I said, it's a lovely neutral, soft pink lipgloss. Super wearable for work, school, or maybe even if you're going out!

Swatch!
I love how creamy the texture is. It feels very soft and is easy to apply. It does survive a little snack but I don't think it will survive a four course meal. I haven't tried it yet because I can't eat as much, haha!

Thanks for reading again today! Hope you're doing fine!

My first "makeup artist" adventure!

Hey everyone! Just a litte while ago I got to do something very exciting! For the first time in my life I got to do someone elses makeup. Not my makeup, not my sisters makeup, nope, it was like a "real makeup job" for a girl that I know who was going out that evening. I was so thrilled (and a little nervous as well, but yeah, it's all part of it).

I packed a bunch of palettes, lipsticks, more eyeshadows, mascar's, eyeliners, false lashes, everything! I ended up using my 144 piece bright eyeshadow palette and my 144 piece neutral eyeshadow palette.

We finished picking the colours pretty easily. I just let her tell me what she wanted, then we picked some colours that I swatched on my head and then we looked what colours matched nicely. I started off carefully and let her check every once in a while if she wanted it darker or anything. When she was pleased with the results, I put on eyeliner, lashes and mascara and then went ahead and finished the rest of her face and her lips.

By the time she was done we were all so excited. Her sister was home too and asked me if I wanted to do something on her too. Here, I went for a brighter look. I didn't apply eyeliner, mascara, foundation or anything, she didn't want it all on her face - just the eyes, because her sister was staying home and it would've been a waist to use false lashes if she was going to take them off after I left.
Here's the link to my tutorial on this look!

I think this was an amazing experience and I'm so glad I got the chance to do this! I would for sure love to do this more, I had a blast!

Thank you for reading!

Owls: current (fashion) obsession!

Hi lovelies!
Do you ever fall in love with a certain symbol or animal and you just want to wear it all the time?
I love foxes and cats on T-shirts but lately, I've also been collecting some owl accessories. Owls are my favourite animals (thanks, Harry Potter!) and lately, they have become fashionable as well! I used to find it quite hard to collect items with owls on it but it's going better now!

Last week there was a fun fair near my home last week, it always starts off with an evening full of music, streets full of stands with cute accessories, clothes or candy you can buy and many other activities. It was at one of the stands that night at the fun fair that I got this first necklace. Beautiful!

Next I got owl earrings! This one is from Six! They don't have owls very often, but when they do, they have a lot of them!

Next up is this scarf that I got at New Look! It's not a very big one and it's nothing that you should wear in winter - meaning it won't keep you warm - but it is a very cute detail. So elegant and graceful! I love it, I wear it all the time!

And lastly, another pair of earrings! I think this one will be cute to match with my owl necklace! This is from Six too, I got it as a gift from my dad!

OOTD: Snow white

Hi guys! Finally an outfit post again! Lately I had been a little bit dissatified with the blog: it was suppost to be an outfit blog with a little beauty but lately it's been a lot of beauty and very little fashion.
Reasons? A lot of times the weather or the awful lot of schoolwork, but also finding someone who wants to take a picture now and then is quite difficult at times! Anyways, I finally managed to get pictures! The outfit that I'm wearing is a bit of a "fall" outfit - big sweater, a scarf and jeans already - not that it's freezing already but especially in the mornings it's very foggy and cold, I even wear my new gloves when I go to school!

Nylon headscarf: Topvintage
Sweater: Zara
Belt: Topvintage
Scarf: H&M
Jegging: C&A (local)
Lipstick: Revlon "Kiss me Coral"

Thank you for reading! I hope you have an amazing day!

NEW IN: soft black gloves

Hello you guys!
Fall is approaching fast here in Belgium. Every once in a while there's a ray of light but most of the time it's raining here. The temperature also lowered quite a bit lately. Where has summer gone?!
I do miss it already but at the other hand there are many many good things about autumn (or fall, however you want to call it) too!

One of my favourite things to do is to think about outfits in fall. In summer, you normally put on slippers with shorts and a bright coloured shirt, et voilà, you're in style.
In winter, it's different, you have to think about it a little more, and in a way, I think fall fashion is more sophisticated!

I love shopping for hats, sweaters, but most of all I love to go shopping for gloves. I used to hate gloves because they're so big and huge, I know everyone wears them and it's no big deal, but I just didn't like it. Until last year, I got my first pair of (fake) leather gloves and I was immediately sold! Unfortunately, a huge hole has appeared in one of the gloves, making it impossible to wear them - so I got a new pair! This pair isn't much different from the other one, it's just not in fake leather, but in soft material.

Personally, I love these kind of gloves, they look so stylish and lady-like, I just love it. I used to think it was "grandma wear", but I've never been as glad to wear "grandma wear" myself!

What is your favourite fall item (to go shopping for)?

My favourite products for dry and damaged hair!

Hey everyone! Today I want to share my favourite products for dry and damaged hair with you. I have had dry and damaged hair for quite a while and at first I didn't even do anything about it but now I cut quite a big piece off of my hair. Right now the most important thing for me is that it grows back and that it's healthy.

The first product is my tangle teaser, I've started to like this product more and more every day. Just a great way to damage your hair less.

Next, I have a favourite shampoo, hairmask and hair oil.
I just got this shampoo recenty, it's the total repair shampoo from Schwarzkopf. It has liquid keratin in it and it smells amazing.

The hairmask is from Schwarzkopf as wel, I think it's from thesame line as the shampoo. This is an "untimate oi elixer anti-hairbreakage mask" for damaged hair. I do have the feeling that both of these products work very well for me, my hair feels softer but it also looks healthier!

Next I have my Kérastase hair oil which is a little extra treat for my hair. Normally I just make my hair towel dry when I get out of the shower and then I apply this.
I always do this, even if I want to blow dry my hair that day. I feel that, when I put this on my hair first, it won't be damaged as much, no matter what!

I hope you ladies who needed it liked my advice, let me know if you have any "magical" products that work really well for damaged hair!

Comparing: MAC's "Russian Red" and Rimmel's "Kiss of Life"

A budget and a high end lipstick that look a like? I always love it when this happens!
Today I'm comparing MAC to Rimmel. Could Rimmel's lipstick be the budget version of MAC's Russian Red?

The packaging next to each other. MAC is on the left, Rimmel is on the right.
Below, you can see the two lipsticks next to each other. They do look similar, don't they?

Swatches! The first one is with flash and the second one is without flash. MAC is the left swatch, Rimmel is the right swatch. I do really think they look similar, the MAC one might just be a little bit darker.

And now how they look on my lips... Now, I have to warn you!
Please don't mind my chin - I tried out some new skincare and uhm, let's say that didn't really work out too well.

I would say Rimmel's "Kiss of Life" is a pretty good drugstore dupe for MAC's Russian Red. It is slightly less red and a little lighter, but everything else is pretty much thesame!

Thanks for reading! Stay safe!

Weekly Diary

Hi everyone! I'm back with another Weekly Diary! I had so much fun last week! I don't have many pictures though, because most of the time I'm in school and I can't take any pictures!

Dog walking! I don't have a dog of my own but this is a dog of a friend. His name is Goldy and he's a little angel, such a pleasure to walk and cuddle him! He also LOVES my baret! Don't you think he looks like a French artist?

Problems with the post office! Argh, there is always a probem there, no matter what I send or where I send it to, it's always a problem.

The weather has been bad this week. Rain everyday. Fall is for sure coming fast! I did spot this super cute, beautiful rainbow though.

Marie-Claire magazine! It's been a while since I read a magazine but I love to get a magazine every once in a while and later on cut pictures or quotes or articles out of it!

Fun fair! Love the bright colours, the smell of the food, the happy faces of litte kids...!

Lunch time! Now that I'm in my last year of high school we get the freedom to go out for lunch. Sometimes I get a baguette, sometimes I get spaghetti but today I had fries. Not good for the diet and not good for the wallet, but I will be slowing it down soon and I will also go and do workouts two or three times weekly. SOON! Would you like lifestyle and health posts about my workout routine when I start going to the gym?

Math. Only three weeks passed and I'm already tired of it. What have I gotten myself into? Sometimes I wonder why I never followed my dreams and became a chef...

What has your week been like? I hope you're doing well!

Essence stay with me lipgoss in "Kiss Kiss Kiss"

My lipgloss addiction/obsession is coming up again. Sometimes I'm more interested in lipsticks and other lipproducts, sometimes I'm really into mascara, eyeliner, sometimes I love eyeshadow. These last few weeks the products that I bought were most of the time lipstick and lipglosses.
I got this one for example; Essence "Stay with me" longlasting lipgloss. I already have two (want to see a review on that?) but I didn't have this red one yet, and since it was on sale...

I don't have very much lipglosses in a red kind of colour and since it's my favourite colour to wear, I couldn't leave this behind.
The brush is a little bit out of the ordinary, I never had one like this before so it's quite difficult to try to apply the colour smoothly and flawless, but once you achieve the look, it's to die for!

I am happy with this lipgloss, I think the colour is gorgeous and it's especially beautiful over another bright red lipstick.

Thanks for reading! Have a great day!

EOTD: Smokey teal

Hello you guys!
I have another eye of the day for you! This time I tried to combine really bright with really dark. This is the outcome! I took these pictures several hours after wearing it to work, that's why it's a bit smudged.

I used my ELF palette for this look. My eyeliner and mascara are by Essence.

That's it for today! Thanks for reading!

Hello everyone! I have told you about my before or after eight palette by Catrice more than once but here's another post! This look is a ook made with the palette, yet it's totally different than the first look I made.
I filmed a tutorial on this but last time my computer was about to crash so my dad decided to reset everything, but I don't know if I still have this video. I do certainly hope so, but I'll have to search it...
Anyways, I didn't want to hold the pictures back any longer! Here they are, I hope you enjoy!

Products used:
* Catrice "before or after eight" palette
* Budget brown pencil eyeliner
* Essence white eyeliner
* Essence mascara
