OOTD: Baby Blue!

Hello everyone!
As you might have noticed, I've been writing about Rome.
I went to visit Rome and I did really enjoy it. Of course I took some pictures - I wouldn't be a blogger if I didn't!

The best thing about being in Rome - aside from all the history and culture - is the good weather. Time for playsuits, shorts and dresses!

Today's outfit is a baby blue playsuit that I got at New Look. The shoulders and the back are quite special. They're covered in lace and the back is semi-open.

I paired it with my favourite new ballet flats and a nude purse. I also brought a scarf with me, because in some holy places, you have to "cover up", which means cover your shoulders and anything above the knee.

I also wore a pearl bracelet and my gold watch. This is my favourite arm candy and I couldn't go without. They do always give you the advice not to wear too many bracelets or necklaces in Rome because of pick pockets who will just rip it off your chest or arm, but honestly, I haven't had any problems with it.
Do pay attention though if you go on a trip!

When in Rome....

Goodmorning everyone!
If you've been wondering where I've been, I'll tell you! I'm currently in Rome, on a schooltrip.
As a person who loves to travel (and someone who studies history), I'm feeling absolutely amazing visiting this place.

We've seen some very well known buildings on our first day, which I'd like to show to you now. Take a walk with me through some of Romes finest places.
In this blogpost I won't be writing a lot of information, more pictures and detailed information are coming up in my Travel Diary series, so stay tuned if you're looking for something like that. It's not so much about touring/guiding/travelling, but more about the beauty of certain less popular places or things.

Quick tip: you need to cover yourself in holy places!

Of course, we end the day with some snacks and a cocktail!

And on an evening stroll....

Thanks for reading! I'll be uploading more soon!
Have a nice day!

Wake up, spring!

Every spring, pastel colours come back. I'm not a fan of a wide range of pastel colours, there are only two pastel colours I like: mintgreen and pastel purple.
Just a few days ago, I was in the city center window shopping, but I ended up buying a few things too! One of those things was a mintgreen eyeliner that I came across.
I've never had bright coloured eyeliner but it's trending so I wanted to give it a shot.

The packaging of this product is so adorable. It looks like a mintgreen pen. The pen says "Wake up, spring!" in curly letters. This is the title of this collection. Ah, it makes me feel so happy inside!

The felt tip was something that made me doubt a little. Up until now, I've haven't had a good felt tip  experience when it comes to eyeliners. However, the swatch looks decent.

The look that I was going for was quite simple; a normal, black line and above it, the mintgreen line. I decided to do the mintgreen line before adding the black, because it would be easier.

Even though the colour payoff was okay on my wrist, it didn't show up that well on my eyes. I had to go over it a couple of times, but then the product didn't look like it was distributed evenly. The middle was less intense than the outer parts, if that makes sense.

I wish the colour would show up more on my skin. I feel like you have to go over it a bunch of times and still, you barely see any result.
I get that this is a pastel eyeliner, but still, it did disappoint me a little.

The next day I re-applied this eyeliner with the difference that I put the pen vertically in a cup with my other pens all night overnight, I thought maybe the product would come down more and it would be easier to use the felt tip. No luck.

I absolutely love the idea of pastel eyeliners, but so far I'm still not satisfied with the eyeliner Essence came up with.
I will be trying some other brands soon!

BRABLEMS!

Recently, I was working at a bar with my collegue and good friend. I always do the bartending, she waits on the tables. The hot weather made me feel like I was wearing too much, whereas my friend had another problem - or should I say - brablem.
A brablem is, as the word already shows you - a problem with your bra. And man, are there a lot of problems that can occur!

It's known that women in general, wear the wrong bras. I too have been guilty. My lovely friends at Thirdlove.com have provided me with a handy dandy chart!
Basically every 'brablem' you could have, is explained below, as well as a good solution to the problem! Once you have found ways to solve your brablems, check out their bras!"

Dressing nicely isn't just about the clothes you wear, but also about underwear. If that doesn't fit, you'll probably be annoyed and no matter how pretty your clothes are, the most important thing'll be missing: your smile.

You can click the pictures below to make them larger or download them, if you need to.

OOTD: My ray of light!

Belgium was the warmest place in Europe last week, and boy, have we noticed!
We had a couple of holidays, which means that most of us spent 4 or 5 days at home and had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful weather (and each other's good moods that came with it)!

I, unfortunately, wasn't one of them. I didn't have to go to school, but I did end up working. We'd had a couple of extremely hot days before so I decided to keep my outfit basic and short! Here's what I wore!

I wanted to get a tan (because so far, I think I look like milk), so I wore some high waisted shorts. These feel so 1950s and I'm so happy I got them! They are burgundy and come with a tiny belt with gold detailing.
My shirt was white, as well as my shoes.

My bag was black and white with some gold detailing (it's a Michael Kors knock-off).

I also wore my favourite gold watch from Claire's and a bracelet with pearl detailing (I got this online from Six, but you can find similar jewellery at H&M).

I kept my accessories quite minimal. I did end up adding this cute necklace, I got this one at Claire's I think - this actually used to be one of my tattoo ideas! I still absolutely love the infinity symbol and the heart intertwined, it's just not going on my body (or at least, not now).

Have a lovely day!

Catrice blush trio

If people would ask me which products I'd love to take to a deserted island, blush would be one of the things I'd bring rightaway. I am a very pale girl and I don't blush easily, so I need some cosmetics to help me...

I recently got this Catrice blush trio. It holds three different kinds of colours and I couldn't be more excited!

The left blush is a shimmery purple-ish kind of colour. In the middle, you can find a hot pink, matte bronzer and on the right you've got a peachy, shimmery blush.

In the next picture, I mixed the middle colour and the right colour together.

I think this is a great budget product and I use it on a daily basis. The packaging is not too big, it's not too expensive, the product isn't chalky and there's a good colour payoff.
I love the idea of having more than one option to choose from as well! Especially if you're trying to build a stash or if you want to try out new things, I'd recommend this for you!

OOTD: Oh sunny day!

Goodmorning out there!
It's another sunny day here in Belgium and I'm quite happy to see that the weather has changed for the better!
My outfits are always a reflection of how I feel and today... I feel good!

I'm wearing some black and white basics (white shoes, white shirt, black leggings), and I've spiced them up with a pop of colour; this bright yellow blazer (by Moggy's) and a colourful scarf by H&M.

Normally I also wear some gold bangles and a watch, but today I was teaching and the constant noise of my bangles irritate me and my students, so I left those off today.

Spring make-up trends :)

Goodmorning all of you!
How have you been doing? I have been so busy working on a bunch of different things (most importantly: my teaching and guiding my students in their learning proces!), which you might have noticed from my absence.
I'm not going to say it's never going to happen again, because honestly, I don't know. The days have just been flying by and I feel like sometimes I can't keep up.

Spring is just around the corner now andere I van barely wait!
Today I'll be showing you my three favourite make-up trends for spring. I absolutely love spring; the birds, the sun, the weather that's still a bit chilly but leaves you hopeful, ah, I can't get enough!

Glitter

I don't consider glitter to be a trend, simply because I personally wear it all the time, but if you're not the kind of girl that wears glitter on a day to day basis, then no problem! But maybe you could give it a try this spring!

Below, I've linked a very glittery, but oh so gorgeous make-up tutorial for you guys. If, however, you don't like all over the lid glitter, don't worry! Below the first video, you'll find a second one. This second one is more neutral and subtle - glitter eyeliner is your friend this season!

Rosy tones
If you're not really into glitter and all that jazz, or maybe you just want to tone it down for a couple of days, you can always go for rose, pinky tones. I was never a big fan of pink shades until I got the Nude Dude make-up palette by The Balm a couple of months ago. Since then, I've also been experimenting with cranberry/burgundy shades.
Scared this eyeshadow look will make you look sick? Go for pink lips instead!

Blue eye make-up
I used to be a very huge fan of blue eyeshadows. When I just started out experimenting with make-up, I couldn't get enough of it.
I feel like now, I've come to my senses and I've started to act more natural, but I'm quite happy to see that the pop of colour will be making a comeback this spring.

Again, I've got two tutorials to inspire you!

Enjoy your first day of May!
