Travel Diary: ROTTERDAM!

Goodmorning! How are you doing?
The summer holidays is halfway, which is a shame because I have so many things I want to do, yet so little time.

One of the things I did get to do was go on a quick, two day trip to the Netherlands.
Fellow students of mine went there with school last year and loved it, so I wanted to see it with my own eyes.

I brought my camera but when we arrived I saw my memory card was still in my computer. The computer I left at home. I managed to get a new memory card the second day, so I did get to shoot some pictures (not a lot though).

Anyway, I thought I'd share a couple of pictures. I enjoyed Rotterdam a lot. Hope I can go back soon!

MAC "Beauty marked" & "Trax" + make-up look!

Hello everyone! I've been enjoying the summer break -  a break from studying and working for school, and actually getting to experiment with other things, such as my blog, traveling, make-up, etc... .
MAC has been and will always be one of my favouite make-up brands. I'm especially crazy about their lipsticks and eyeshadows. I have a nice collection of eyeshadows already, but there's always room for more.
I always use tan or brown shades from budget brands, because blending colours can be found anywhere and really don't have to be that expensive. It's the special, eye popping shades that I like to get from MAC.

"Trax"

"Beautymarked"
I recently got two new shades, both purple shades, called "Trax" and "Beauty marked". I've had my eye on them for over a year now and decided to just do it.

I had a bit of a hard time taking pictures of these eyeshadows because they look different from every single angle.

"Trax", the lighter purple is just a really pretty colour, whereas "Beautymarked" is a dark eyeshadow with a twist; there are pinik and purple glitters in it. It's so beautiful!

I created a smokey eye with these two eyeshadows and "Espresso", which I used as my blending/crease colour. I applied "Trax" all over my eyelid and the darkest colour "Beautymarked" on the upper and lower lashline.
I didn't use liquid eyeliner for once, instead, I applied kohl eyeliner on my waterline.

What do you think?

EOTD: Navy, baby!

Goodmorning sweethearts! How have you been?
I have been enjoying a couple of free days - which I will be blogging about later (because a blogger or writer never really stops thinking about blogging or writing) and I've been experimenting with the many new beauty items I got recently.

One of those beauty items is the H&M navy eyeliner, which is gorgeous! I love the colour and the glitter in it. I recently created a gold/neutral make-up look and used this eyeliner for the finishing touch, instead of the regular black one.  I also re-discovered my Essence pigment from years ago, which is nice because I forgot how much I loved it when I just started this blog (a looong time ago ;p). Check out the pictures below!

 Products used:
- Essence "Smell the caramel" pigment (check out a very old eye of the day by clicking here. Feel   free to giggle, I did too)
- MAC "Bronze" and "Espresso" eyeshadow
- H&M "De Nîmes" eyeliner
- Miss Sporty mascara (review coming up)

I hope you liked today's post! Thank you for reading!
Have a lovely day!

EOTD: Glitter cut crease ♥

Goodmorning everyone!
Just a few days ago, I got my newest H&M navy blue liquid eyeliner. I've tried out some looks already, and this one is my favourite by far!
It's quite dramatic and perhaps not suited for everyday, but it's fun. Check it out!

OOTD: The Venice of the North

People often say that Bruges is the Venice of the North. I have no idea if it's true or not, I've never seen Venice with my own eyes.
But there is one thing I do know: I think Bruges is pretty wonderful. It's quite small if you think about it, different from Ghent (which is another important city here in Belgium), but I think there's a lot of atmosphere, culture and character here.

When I first moved here, two years ago, I had this plan to explore Bruges during the weekends... But things kept coming up and I decided that school and work were more important.
However, I decided to make up for lost time and I've been making a lot of walks, discovering more and more beautiful places, with my sister by my side.

Woops! Resting bitch face!

We had such a nice day together, just spending some time, doing some shopping and sipping a couple cocktails in the city center. As always, I was armed with my camera and we snapped a couple of pictures of my outfit.

It wasn't that hot out so I'm wearing beige/light brown trousers and I paired it with this amazing black top with golden glitters in it. It's a bit odd, sometimes you can spot the gold glitter and in other lighting it just disappears.

What I love about this outfit is that the colour of my trousers, shoes and purse match perfectly.

For accessories, I wore these two H&M necklaces, that I showed you in my haul earlier.

That's my outfit of the day! I hope you enjoyed the pictures.
Thanks for reading, I hope you have a nice day!

H&M "De Nîmes" coloured eyeliner review!

Another day, another eyeliner added to my make-up collection - or so it seems!
As you might have noticed, I've been getting into glitter and coloured eyeliners recently. I've been experimenting with eyeliner ever since I've started blogging, well over four years ago now!

My latest eyeliner buy was a bit of an impulse; I didn't need more eyeliners, but the H&M store in Bruges has been expanding, adding more make-up to their collection and the eyeliners were on sale, so I got one.

The packaging of this eyeliner is so cute! You can see the colour of the eyeliner through the tube. The letters on the eyeliner are gold, which is beautiful. Everything else is pretty basic.

The eyeliner that I got is called "De Nîmes", it's a gorgeous blue colour with a bit of glitter in it. Oh, and I also have an "eye of the day" coming up using this eyeliner, so make sure you check that out as well.

The tip of this eyeliner brush is soft and flexible. It's so easy to draw a line across your lashline.

And would you look at the colour of this eyeliner. My god, it is gorgeous - it reminds me of what the sky looks like at midnight!
The eyeliner contains a bit of sparkle. I wouldn't say glitter because there aren't any big chunks in it, it's very subtile. It's almost difficult to explain.

It has a nice texture and applies smoothly. I don't have any complaints about pigmentation either; one layer does the job just fine, this eyeliner isn't watery or anything.

To be honest with you, I never expected to find such a great eyeliner at H&M.

Finding this eyeliner was a coincidence (I wouldn't have seen it if it didn't have a huge red sticker or if it wasn't placed near the check out- very smart marketing by the way) but I'm glad I did notice it.
If you feel like trying something different, I'd recommend giving this eyeliner a shot.

I'm will be going back to see if they have any other exciting colours!
I paid €3 for this eyeliner.

EOTD: Neon

Goodmorning lovelies!
Remember last week when I showed you my brand new coloured eyeliners by Miss Sporty? Today's look is a very bright look. I used my neon yellow eyeliner for this one.
I was quite excited to try this one out and man, I can't get over how cute it is! I will say that it's not for everyone. A couple of my friends love it, others don't really like it at all. It's all a matter of personal taste, but being the beauty/make-up lover that I am, I just had to try it. I'm always up for something new!

I think this is such a nice make-up look for bright, sunny days! Everytime I look down, it's like a little surprise: "Boom, I have yellow eyeliner!". I will have another make-up look up using the pastel blue eyeliner as well.

I kept my eyeshadow pretty neutral so it wouldn't take away from the colour pop this eyeliner provides. I have listed all the make-up products below. You can click the links to my reviews if you'd like to read more about these products.

Products used:
- The Balm "Balm Voyage" palette:
"B3" in the crease, "B4 in the outer corner, "A3" on the lid
- MAC "Satin Taupe"
- Essence liquid eyeliner
- Miss Sporty eyeliner in "004 Neon Yellow"

Thanks for reading!

Here's to a great start of the summer!

Bonjour!
How have you been? I've been a tad busy, but I've been doing good.

I can't remember the last time I did a personal/lifestyle post, so today, I'm giving you a sneak peek of what my life is like behind the scenes.

During the exams I spent a lot of time working for the blog. Normally there's a week or two without posts when I'm in exams, but I didn't want to let you down this time. And it payed off! Aside from writing, I've also been more active on my Instagram, made a Twitter account for my blog (which I always forget to update, so I have to make it a habit) and business cards!

I decided I didn't want a boring business card so I selected some of my favourite pictures to put on there.

My sister came by and brought sweets! These macarons and tartes were so, so delicious! I'm a foodie - and I especially love desserts and sweets!

After the exams, a few friends and I decided to go out. Well, I don't know why but we tried to take multiple selfies and this is what I was left with.

Also discovered a few really amazing spots in Bruges. This picture was actually taken in a backyard.
So cool!

I love cleaning up my laptop - looking through old pictures while I'm sorting them out and such. I came across two pictures of when I was a teenager. The first one was taken right after my 16th birthday: I got my hair dyed for the first time and I was so proud! This was also the first time my faux bangs worked out.

And later that year, with a completely different hairdo! Ever since then, I've been changing up my hair: long, short, red, white, black, brown, ombré... I've had it all!

Speaking of hair... I went shorter - again! Just a matter of 'cleaning up' for the summer!

On free days, I've been working on a new system to sort out my clothes. I never really realized I had so many clothes! I always find things in the back of my closet that I didn't think I have anymore.

I got my fair share of Starbucks as well this month! I don't go there on a daily basis but every once in a while I like to treat myself. When I'm leaving for work and could use some caffeine - or when I'm coming home from work, I like to get a cup of delicious coffee. Or a blackberry mojito when it's hot outside (so good!).

Besides working for the blog, I've also picked up my job in the service industry again. I like to do this job on the side because as a student, a little extra cash can come in handy sometimes.
I took a short break from work during my exams, but now I'm back in business. It's not all work though...

I will be travelling to London in two weeks, which is super exciting! I have never been there, which is crazy since I study English and I love everything English, but that's about to change!
I'm only staying for a couple of days, but I'm sure that'll be enough. I don't want to be too optimistic, but I hope I'll get to do more citytrips this summer.

And then I have two other exciting things coming up: I'm taking my dad to Cirque Du Soleil (it was my gift to him for Father's Day).

As if all this isn't enough excitement, the day after that, I'm turning 20...
Work hard, play hard, right? Haha!

Ahh, it's going to be a good summer!

I hope you enjoyed this post, I certainly enjoy sharing something a little more personal every once in a while!
I'll catch you up later!
