I ♥ make-up palette review!

Hello everyone! How are you?
I just got back from a school trip where I got to spend the week with my high school students (which is pretty rare for an intern, but it was so much fun!).
Ever since arriving home I've been spending my days trying to enjoy and spending my nights working on lesson preparations.

It hasn't been all work and no play, I have allowed myself a couple of things this spring break and well... One of them was to "treat myself". So I did. I treated myself to a new palette by "I ♥ make-up", which is a brand that I've never tried, but I was pretty curious!

The packaging is quite simple, but I think it looks nice. Hot pink letters are always a good idea!

This is what the inside of the palette looks like. So many different shades! This palette holds 32 colours. Some of them shimmery, some of them matt! In this palette you'll also find two small applicator brushes and a giant mirror.

Here are the swatches. Both dark and lighter colours actually have a good colour pay off. I wish they would have been a bit more pigmented, but obviously, I've seen worse so I'm not upset. I've also noticed there's little to no fall out.

Time for an eye look! I've kept it quite neutral today. I've also used cool toned eyeshadows instead of the regular gold today. I'm not used to it yet, but it's quite nice. Change is good!

What do you think of this look?

EOTD: Storm part 2

It's amazing how many different you can create using only one palette.
This last week I have been talking about the Sleek Storm palette. I have showed you the haul, the review and one look. Today I have another one for you.

This look is completely different from the previous one. In this look, I decided to go for warm colours such as brown, yellow and gold (in contrary to the pink look I made last week). I'm also planning on doing a green and blue one. That one might be the most exciting one yet!

Other products used in this post:
- Sleek eyebrow set
- Bourjois foundation
-Catrice bronzer
-Essence powder

Have a lovely Tuesday! ♥

Comparing: MAC vs Catrice highlighters

I love comparing products to each other.
Preferably cheaper and more expensive products. I did one in the past comparing MAC Russian Red lipstick and Rimmel London's lipstick to each other.
Time to compare another MAC product to one of my newest favourites: a highlighter from Catrice!

Here are the two highlighters next to each other. On the right, you see the very famous MAC highlighter called "Soft and Gentle" (that I accidentally dropped and broke, cry!) . On the left, my newest Catrice higlighter in "Light Infusion".

Both highlighters look rather simple in their packaging. Catrice has silver packaging, MAC has black packaging. Both fine.
The MAC highlighter is a little more gold, whereas the Catrice highlighter is a bit cooler.

And swatches!
The highlighters are not exactly thesame, (Soft and Gentle is warmer) but quality wise,  I must say I'm very impressed with Catrice!

If you want a really good budget highlighter, get your hands on this Catrice highlighter as fast as you can!

Catrice high glow highlighter ♥

Goodmorning to the whole wide world out there! How are you?
I have been in quite a good mood recently. I have been working for school a lot, but I have also reaping the rewards!

I thought I deserved a little treat from myself too and went shopping. Mostly window shopping, but when I got to my drugstore, I decided to take a look inside and here's what I found: A Catrice highlighter! This is the High Glow mineral highlighting power (phew, what a long name!).

This higlighter called "Light Infusion" is a Limited Edition highlighter and I nearly died when I saw it!
It looks so beautiful! Normally I'd say that the packaging is quite minimalistic and that it's not really my style, but in this case I think it's very handy. That way you can really see the product, and that's what chatches your eye (or at least, what caught mine! ;) ).

When I swatched it, my jaw dropped. Honest to God.
Such a pretty highlighter! And the pigmentation!

As you can see, this higlighter is well pigmented, but it also has a nice structure. There are no chunks of glitter in it, which I'm extremely grateful for. I have bad skin as it is and chunks would only make it look worse.

I'm so happy to have found a budgetproof highlighter that meets my expectations when it comes to textures and everything.
I would for sure recommend it if you're looking for a cheap highlighter.

Manicure Monday: whites

Happy Monday everyone! It's been quite since I've done something new to my nails. I keep going back to the oldies but the goodies. However, today I'm changing it up!
I decided to paint my nails white using my very old New Look nailpolish. After that, I applied two layers of holo shimmer nailpolish by Essence.

Result? Shimmery white nails!

What do you guys think about this manicure?

Day to night tutorial! ♥

Happy Sunday everyone!
Today I have another tutorial for you! I have been trying to push myself out of the comfort zone in order to create content for you!

Remember my spring 2016 look I made for you guys a little while back? In case you haven't seen it yet, here are a couple of links to help you remember: the post with the pictures and the post that contains the video. This look was a very easy, basic make-up look that I do all the time. Right after filming this video, I decided I wanted to make a sequal.

I wanted to make a "day to night" tutorial. And so I did!
In the next video, I show you how you can add a bit of eyeshadow (and perhaps some liquid eyeliner and false lashes), to create your day make-up into night make-up. (During the filming I moved a bit so in a part of the video I'm a bit out of focus, but you can still see what I'm doing so please bear with me ;) )

Thanks for visiting! Have a nice week!

EOTD: Storm part 1

It's Friday, hooray! Hope you guys have been having a great week this week! I'm looking forward to the weekend very much!
I have already created a Friday appropriate make-up look today. It's still wearable enough for during the day, but I also think it's quite "put together" for Friday evenings.
I would even wear more dramatic liner or false lashes at night but hey, let's not get ahead of ourselves! ;)

I have used my newest palette to achieve this look, the "Storm" palette by Sleek.
I decided to go for the colours that I'm very into currently, which are pink, burgundy, purple,...
I also left my usual liquid eyeliner behind and went for a smoked out, soft line that I created using the black eyeshadow from this palette.
It isn't the blackest eyeshadow I've ever owned, but it's a good one for sure!

What do you think of this look?
Do you have any requests for make-up looks? Let me know!

Have a nice Friday and I hope to see you on Sunday!

Sleek 'Storm' palette ♥

Goodmorning everyone! I'm back with part two of my Sleek make-up reviews!
Two days ago, I reviewed the Sleek eyebrow set and today I'm going to talk about a palette that I'm maybe even more excited about!

The packaging of this palette is thesame as the packaging of the eyebrow set. Simple, classy.
I chose a palette with both neutral and colourful eyeshadows. I didn't want an all neutral palette, because I have enough of those and I thought a really bright eyeshadow palette wouldn't be a good choice because after a week, it might already end up somewhere in a closet.

The palette that I got is called "Storm". It holds pinks, neutral browns, and blues/greens. A little bit of everything!

Aren't these colours gorgeous? They are all named after storms, such as "sand storm", "snow storm" and "dust storm". Very cute! I love it when brands have (funny/original) names for their eyeshadows, rather than numbers or... nothing at all.

The swatches surprised me a lot! Both the dark colours and the lighter colours are very well pigmented, which was a surprise to me because normally you don't get the best of both worlds.
You do get a bit of fall out, but that's not the end of the world. Some scotch tape or a big powder brush will get rid of that in no time!

My next post will be a couple of make-up looks that I have created with this palette! (PS For sneak peeks, you can follow me on Instagram).

Have a nice day! Be kind!

2016 - three months of magic!

Hi everybody!
So far, we're in the third month of the new year (my god, it goes fast!) and I thought it'd be nice to give you a quick update of how life's going.

I have done a lot of exciting things already this year. The first thing I'm quite possibly the most proud of is getting my first car. I'm a bit late, as most 19 year olds already have their cars, but I really wanted to work for it myself and pay everything on my own. Here we are, I did it! It's a very small car, but to be honest, I don't need or want a big car for that matter. (Would you like to see a car essentials post?)

picture from Google

Another new thing I got is my belly button piercing! I have been wanting this thing since I was a little girl. They say if you really want something you should wait a while and if you still want it, it means you should get it. I've waited since I was 15 or so, so I think I've waited long enough!
This piercing is also my "motivation" to get in better shape. After all, the only way I can/want to show off my piercing is if my tummy is in good shape!

Another habit I picked up this year is donating blood.
Last year I didn't get to do it because of my other body enhancement (they make you wait a couple of months before you can become a donor again), but this year, I was allowed to give blood.

Being a donor is one of the things on my bucket list because I might save a life and that would be pretty cool, don't you think?

I will also be teaching again soon, almost the whole month of April. I'm absolutely looking forward to it! After that, I will be travelling to Rome, which is something I'm even more excited about!

How has 2016 been treating you? Which big changes have you had this year?

Sleek eyebrow set

Happy Saturday everyone!
On Thursday, I showed you some of the new items I got this week. Two Sleek products! Today I'm going to review the first one for you!

I'm very picky about eyebrow products. My eyebrows are holy and I want nothing but the best. Over the years, I have tried a few different products. I loved the ELF eyebrow set and my MUA eyebrow set. However, I have been running out of both of those products and since I can't get a hold of them anymore (MUA isn't being sold in Belgium anymore and I can only get ELF products on the internet), I decided to give Sleek a shot!

I got the colour "light".

I think the packaging of this product is so cute. It's matt black and the brand name is in shiny, black calligraphy.

The inside of the packaging reminds me a whole lot of my ELF make-up palette. On the left side, there is a gel, on the right side, there is a powder. This set also contains two mini brushes and mini tweezers.

And here are the swatches!

This is what my eyebrows look like without make-up. As you can see, the biggest "problem area" is the outer tail of my eyebrows, it could use some filling.

This is what my brows look after I used the Sleek eyebrow set. I'm quite happy with the product.

I do think the colour of the gel is a bit harsh, so the best way to fix that is to use a spooly. The brushes included in the set work great. They're tiny, but they do the job.
Aside from that, I have no remarks. What do you think?

Sleek haul!

Happy Thursday everyone!
Today is my daddy's birthday, so happy 50th birthday dad!

It's been quite a while since I went shopping, but I had to be in the city center to get my dad's present anyway, so I decided to look around some shops while I was there.
Of course I was drawn to make-up stores, and in one of the stores, I actually found a rather nice suprise: Sleek!

Sleek is a brand of make-up that used to be nearly impossible to get your hands on. Back in the days, I used to dream of these palettes, but I never got them before. (Mainly because I don't like to order online - especially not make-up).

I think we all know I didn't just get my dad a present, I also got myself a present! I bought two items by Sleek. One eyeshadow palette called "Storm" and one eyebrow set. My eyebrows are quite important to me and my other MUA set was done anyways, so why not test this one?

I didn't really know which eyeshadow palette to pick, I think I had six options, but I decided not to go for neutral colours, because I tend to do that quite often and I have enough basic/simple/neutral palettes as it is.
I also didn't want a very flashy eyeshadow palette because I know I wouldn't touch it anyways, so I got something in between: a palette called "Storm", which has neutral/more intense colours. The packaging of this product reminds me of MUA, but I will go more in depth about that in my review.

I must say that the eyebrow palette reminds me of the ELF eyebrow set that I used to have. There's also one gel and one actual powder. This kit also holds mini tweezers and two brushes.
These products look really, really good to me! I can't wait to review them for you!
My reviews on these products will be up shortly so I hope to see you then! Thanks for reading!

EOTD: Fifty shades of green

Goodmorning all of you out there!
Today I have a bright, colourful look for you! This is an all drugstore make-up look!
I used my Essence palette in "laugh, love, lime" and some 2B glitter eyeliner. This look made me so happy, I hope it makes you feel lighthearted as well!

I was actually quite surprised with the pigment of these eyeshadows. It's been a while since I've used them and I simply forgot how amazing they are.
I love re-discovering products, especially if they're budgetproof!

Let me know how you feel about this look!
Have a lovely Tuesday!
