Manicure Monday: Fame Fatal

As a big beauty addict, I have to keep track of all the stuff I get. Very often I'll buy something and forget about it in a week. Only the really good stuff stays in my favourites for a longer time.

Recently, I've discovered that -although my nailpolish collection is quite extensive - I didn't have a normal red nailpolish. I have pink and burgundy,  berry and everything in between,  but no red to be found.
When I was a young teen it was a colour that wasn't appropriate for me but now I'm in my twenties, I think it looks classy and timeless.

As you know,  Essence is my ride or die nailpolish brand. The quality you get for the price is absolutely amazing.
This beautiful red is called "Fame Fatal".

This red manicure sure gets me away from feeling blue on Mondays!
Have a good one,  I hope to see you again soon!

NYX Soft matte lip cream review!

Hello everyone! How are you? I hope you enjoyed my last post on my visit to London.
Ah, I had so much fun!

Do you bring home souvenirs everytime you go some place? I used to do all that, but my type of souvenirs has changed. I bring home regular present for the people I love, and I bring home a lot of make-up that we don't have here in Belgium for myself.
From London, I brought home a set with three lipcreams by NYX. The three lipcreams in this set are pretty dark. Burgundy/purple colours, which I happen to love - and while the weather still feels wintery, why not ajust your make-up on it?

The three colours are called "Copenhagen", "Havana" and "Vancouver". Absolutely beautiful colours. The packaging isn't really eyepopping, but the colours sure do make up for that!

Copenhagen
Havana
Vancouver
Here are some swatches of what the lipcream looks like. As you can see, the pigmentation is quite alright!

From left to right: Vancouver, Copenhagen, Havana
The lipcreams are very soft and have good coverage. "Copenhagen" needs a little more work, it doesn't apply as even as "Vancouver" or "Havana" does. You'll get there, but it'll take about five more minutes. The lipcreams last long, I touch them up about once or twice a night.

"Vancouver"
Overall I'm very happy to have these in my collection. The colours are unlike anything I have in my collection and they're fun to play around with. I like!

Travel Diary: London

Hello everyone! How have you been doing?
I haven't been keeping you up to date when it comes to my travelling adventures!

I recently went to London for the first time in my life and I had a blast! Going to London has been a long time dream and even though I didn't get to visit everything I wanted, I saw and learned a lot of new things!
Here are a couple of pictures! I hope you enjoy!

Valentine's Day make-up look #1

Valentine's Day is coming up in less than a week and I am - for once - very excited by that.
It's the first time in three years that I get to spend this Valentine's Day with someone who is more special to me than anybody else.

I very rarely base my look on an occassion, but this is one of those special times. This look focusses more on the lips and less on the eyes.

The eye make-up on this one is rather soft. I used my Too Faced Natural Eye palette for the crease and outer corner eyeshadows. You can make them as intense as you want,  but I didn't want a fullblown smokey eye. I did do a lot of eyeliner but that is optional. For the lid,  I used my purple highlighter from the Sleek highlighting palette. I didn't think it'd work out,  but it did. So pretty!

I wasn't really in the mood for a red lip (I wear red lips on a daily basis) so I went for a hot pink. This one is from Catrice's Victorian limited edition. I think it's eyecatching,  but still wearable.

Are you planning a special make-up look for Valentine's Day? Let me know!

As always,  thank you loads for reading! Have a nice day!

H&M Fluid Foil review

A couple months ago,  my local H&M started selling make-up. They got a whole new section with eyeshadows,  face products,  lipsticks....
Eversince,  I have been trying a couple of their items.
Just before New Year's,  I found this product,  which is called "Fluid foil". I was -at the time - looking for something my glitter pigments would stick to and got this product. The name of the product sure sounded interesting!

The packaging of this product is pretty cool. I would have expected it to be a tube,  but it's not! This is really handy, by the way. You can measure drop by drop.

Below I've got a bit of product on my wrist. It's about the size of a pea. Now see what happens...

Holy moly!

As you can see,  the colour payoff is more than alright. The texture is not too thick and doesn't clump. I was quite scared it would,  but if you build up the intensity of the product, it's not a problem.

In this look I used the fluid foil all over my eyelid. The inner corner is the fluid foil itself, I worked with different colours eyeshadow towards the outer corner of the eye.

What do you think?

Have a good one!

Travel Diary: Paris

Goodmorning all of you!
Currently, I've done a bit of travelling. If you follow my instagram page, you might have seen some pictures that popped up. My boyfriend and I went on a citytrip to Paris for three days.

It was a much needed break and it was so nice to explore Paris. I had been once before back when I was in high school, but back then we didn't have too much freedom to go and explore ourselves.
I tried to take pictures of not only the popular buildings and places, but some surprising sights as well.

Of course I didn't take pictures of all the places we went to, simply because it wasn't allowed or sometimes I just forgot because I was caught up in the moment.

Place du tertre is a little square with artists who sketch you or make caricatures,... It's absolutely amazing and it's so much fun to walk around there. We had ours done as well and are very happy with the result. It's a vivid memory of our first trip together.

Thanks for reading!
Have a great day!

Adore Me

I have always had a thing for fashion. Although I don't like to follow each and every trend, I like to give some of the trends my own spin and do my own thing with it. That's the reason I first started with this blog, years ago!
The time has flown by, but I still have that same passion for clothes (and my passion for make-up has been growing more and more too).

Although I like to dress up for my boyfriend, I have always liked dressing up for myself. I like to express myself through what I wear. But it's not always about the clothes that other people can see.
I even enjoy thinking about what I'm wearing underneath. It's almost like a little secret.
Nothing - in my opinion - gives a woman more confidence than knowing she has sexy lingerie on. Nobody knows it, but it does boost your mood.

I recently got in contact with the people over at Adore Me (click here for the link) who have the cutest sets of bras and panties. Just in time for Valentine's day! Need some outfit ideas to surprise your man (or woman) with?
Here are two of my favourite options to spice it up! Two which I've tried myself before!

I would either wear a bralette (or a lace bra if you've been blessed with a bigger chest - which they do have lingerie for as well!) underneath a jumpsuit that has a bit of cleavage. My favourite jumpsuit is a black one with cleavage which will show a little bit of lace detailing, but not too much. These kinds of jumpsuits can be find in stores like H&M, New Look, Zara,... .
Pick up a bra in black or maybe another colour, such as red or pink, for a cute, sexy detail.

If you're a bit of a daredevil, you could even wear a brighter item underneath a sheer top. You can match it with your favourite jeans or wear a pencil skirt and heels for that extra 'oomph'. Just make it your own, I swear, it'll not only feel great, but also look great.
And there's nothing more attractive than confidence! ;)

Oh, Adore Me has got some really nice sales going on right now! Head over to the website to treat yourself to a nice new set

Have a good one, lovelies!

New Look oval brush set!

Goodmorning everyone! It's been quite a while!
How have all of you been?
As always, I have been taking exams last month, which is why I have been a bit absent. It has given me time to try out products for a longer while though - which is good because now I can give you a full opinion on them.

The first thing I really wanted to review were these oval brushes that I got at New Look. Oval brushes were a bit weird to me when they first came out, I had no idea what the heck it was and why anyone would use it. I was even more surprised to see them at New Look. But I got the four-piece set for €10 and decided to give it a try.

This is what the brush set looks like. The brushes come in four different sizes. I like to use the biggest one for foundation and a smaller one for concealer.

As you can see the bristles are very close to each other, which means using a brush like this will give you good coverage. It also means that you have to watch out for cake face the first time you use a brush like this!

I've used the brush for a while now and I couldn't live without it anymore. It normally took up to five or even ten minutes to do my foundation with my hands or another brush (making sure everything looked even and there were no blank spaces), while this brush gives me the ability to do it in a few swipes. Just like that, in the blink of an eye.

I didn't think I'd like the oval bushes to be honest, but I have tried them and have been using them for over a month now and I was wrong.
If you get the chance to try these, I would definitely recommend them.
