Ballerina Bun - Full Tutorial.

Hello everyone! In one of my previous outfit of the day posts, I've mentioned my ballerina bun and how much I loved it. The top knot and the messy bun both have been really popular lately, while the ballerina bun is a more 'classic' version of those two. I like the ballerina bun the most.
This post is obviously going to be a bit longer than my other posts, because I'm going to explain it to you.

At Primark or H&M you can find a donut roll, which is something you need if you want to make the perfect ballerina bun with the perfect shape. If you don't own that, you can make it with a sock.
I did it that way with a black sock and it turned out to be fine. Make sure you wash the sock before you use it because it's going to be in your hair. Also, please note that you're going to have to cut parts of your sock off, so don't take your most beautiful ones. I recommend using a black one.
To make it easy for you I'm not going to write it all down but I'm going to insert a video on how to do it. It's quick and easy and maybe took me five minutes.

Once you have your sock or your donut roll, you can go on to the next step: putting it in your hair.
Here are some things you're going to need (you could add products like hairspray but I don't use that).

The roll or sock.

Some hair ties.

Bobby pins! I use black and red ones since my hair is red but you could choose your own hair coloured bobby pins!

The first thing you're going to do is to brush your hair, so that it's nice and smooth.
The next step is to make a ponytail in your hair. I choose to do this on top of my hair, but you could really put it anywhere on your head.

That's where the donut roll or your sock comes in.
You're going to put it in your hair as well, don't do anything with it yet, just pretend it's a hairtie or something, you put it in your hair like you'd put in an elastic (of course you don't twist the sock or donut roll!)
After that you're going to separate your hair so that it covers the sock fully. You don't want people to see the sock so make sure it's hidden. Another small remark is to not use a white sock. I mean, you could if you wanted, but if you have red/brown hair like me, I wouldn't do it because you would be able to see it if there was a little hole in your bun.

Once you're done with that (and happy with the result), you can put a hairtie over it to secure it. Don't worry, I know it's going to look (and feel) a little bit weird with the rest of your hair just hanging out, but we'll fix that in a minute. Your hair should now look like this:

Now take the "leftovers" of your hair and seperate them in two different sections. You're going to start with one section. Bascially, what you do is you just surround the bun, then you take the second one (you could come across is somewhere along the way) and do thesame thing.

It should look like this, now hold on to the hair in your hand and grab bobby pins.
You're almost done!
What you're going to do now is secure the hair, secure the bun to make sure everything stays in place.

And that's how you do the bun!
When you're finished, it should look like my bun (below). You could add hairspray if you wanted.

I hope you liked this photo tutorial! Let me know how it goes when you try it!
