Travel Diary: National Archeology Museum Madrid

Whether you like it or not, history is a very important and interesting subject. I used to hate history, until I started going to high school. I've mentioned this once or twice before but the teacher in the first year of high school used to make history lessons so much fun, that I actually started to enjoy doing it.
It is because of them that today, I'm studying history in college. One of my two friends who joined me on this trip also studied history and that's why we both decided to visit the National Archeology Museum in Madrid.

The museum was quite big and very impressive. It started with the prehistoric times and every floor was a different time period. The top floor was Middleages themed.
Very fascinating to see. They had a lot of items from every single time period and I also learned some new and interesting things about some of the things they found. In today's post I'll feature a small selection of all the pictures I took inside this breathtaking museum.

It was so overwelming and actually I needed four more hours to roam around, but I'm happy we got to do it.

This bracelet was actually almost identical to the one I was wearing that day. The necklaces in the pictures below reminded me of chokers nowadays. Everything comes back in fashion, doesn't it ;)

I don't want to turn this into a big history lesson, but I did want to give those of you who are interested a glimpse of what you can find there and how wonderfully beautiful this museum is. Even if you're not into history, I would still recommend doing this.

This was pretty cool, they had about three or four mummies that they actually X-rayed! This gave me chills all over!

Have a lovely day, thanks again for reading!

Travel Diary: Food ♥ #2

Good morning everyone! Here I am again with a Travel Diary!
As you may know, I went to Madrid not too long ago. I went with two good friends to just get away from daily life and all the struggles that come with it - because we all need some distraction sometimes.
We were only there for four days, so we didn't see it all, but the couple of buildings that we did get to see were under construction and weren't very exciting from the outside.

Luckily, there's more to Madrid than just buildings. There's some great tapas out there, for example. That's why today I'm taking you to one of the most amazing food places we've visited. I always love places where you can order tons of small tapas. We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident, because we were looking for a place to hide from the rain.

I don't remember what all of the food was, but it was pretty good! They had loads of vegetarian tapas, which I got, and then some tapas with fish. At a certain point, I think I had six small plates in front of me. A lot, but too good not to eat!

We had some delicious mojito's as well! I even got a strawberry mojito, even though I didn't ask for that originally, which was a nice surprise!
Loved that little bit of extra service! We had a really good time and were treated so so well during lunch there, I wish I could go back one more time!

I hope I didn't make you too hungry now! ;)
Have a great day!

Travel Diary: A diner and good food ♥ #1

As a teenage girl, I was always very inspired by the fifties. I had a Tumblr blog about Marilyn Monroe and followed Idda Van Munster on Facebook to get vintage inspiration. A few years later, I finally decided to get into it myself, to stop shying away from it, and went full pin-up for a while. (X, X, X, X, X)
I still, to this day wear quite a bit of vintage clothes or like to style my outfits like they did back in the days. Some days a bit more extreme than other days, but always "there".

I have always been fascinated by the American diners, but never found any. In Madrid, I got very lucky. I almost didn't notice this diner, but I'm so glad I did. Apparently this is a chain of diners in Madrid. I'm a BIG fan!

We stayed a couple hours and had some good food (and cocktails of course) while I freaked out about the interior and outfits.

Take a look!

How cute are all the girls? Love their uniforms!

Quite surprising, a chicken and waffle dish. Never had this before, but so yummy!

The food was so good, I overate big time, but it was so worth it! We spent two or three hours inside the diner and it was pure happiness.

Thanks for reading!
I hope you enjoyed this post!
