Bookreview: Iron Fey series part 2: The Iron Daughter

Hello everyone!
Today I'm going to review "The Iron Daughter", which is the second book in The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. I just finished it and my feelings are all over the place.
I loved the first book so much but I've been struggling to finish the second book due to a lot of work for school.

Finally, I finished the book today. Let's just say this book is even more heartbreaking than the first book. I on't see what could possibly happen in the third book at this point, because the end right now was so dramatic, but I'm sure it'll be a pleasure to read.

In this book, Meghan Chase returns to Queen Mab, as a prisoner (because she had a contract with prince Ash). During her stay, the Scepter (which is the source of extreme power - whoever has it becomes more powerful) is being transferred from King Oberon's empire to Queen Mab's empire (they each get it for half a year, that's the deal), but just after the ceremony, it already gets stolen.
Mab thinks Oberon did it and declares the War, but there's much more going on.

Meghan Chase, daughter of Oberon, knows all about it. She was in the room with the Scepter when it got stolen an now wants to find it back.
The only problem is that it's the Iron Fey who stole it. And they just happen to be Meghan's worst enemy!

I never saw this ending coming. It took my breath away and it broke my heart.
Time for more! Haha!

H&M eyebrow set review

If there is one thing I can't stand, it's going outside without doing my eyebrows.
I don't like my eyebrows, they're so thin and short so I like to adjust them a little. Since my ELF eyebrow powder is empty, I decided to get a new palette to try out.
This one is by H&M.

The packaging is all black, it's simple.
The set holds three colours: a light brown, a dark brown and a darker green-ish kind of colour.
The eyebrow set also comes with a small angle brush.

Darker eyebrows are beautiful when you have blonde hair, but even the lightest colour is too dark for me. Too bad!
I do use it at times to accentuate the highest point of my brow, but not much for anything else!
Too bad, it would have been really good if the colour was right for me!

Weekly Diary

Hello everybody!
I'm sorry for my absence, it's been a busy couple of days! Today I'm going to be talking you through last week.

The first thing that made me smile last week was this orchid that rebloomed. I've had a couple of orchids before that never rebloomed and I was so scared this one was going to die as well. But it didn't! Happy me!

I found my diary and read it over again. Even though I didn't even write a lot, I did remember some things and I laughed a lot!

Inside I also found a birthday card that I had completely forgotten about! The cover is so pretty!

I also got new fish last week. I used to have six guppies but some of them died of infection almost rightaway, which is sad because even medication couldn't help them anymore.
That's why this week, I got some new friends for my remaining friends. I got four new little black tetra's. I read it's better to keep them in a school, so I'm getting two other ones tomorrow. That way they don't feel alone and they don't become agressive.

I also got a little 'Titanic' ship for my tank and got lots of plants! I love decorating my fish tank, I just don't change it everytime, I'm scared my fish won't recognize their home if I do!

Remember the guinea pigs? They are growing really well!
And uh, another one of our guinea pigs is pregnant! Oh boy, it's like a farm! But I like to be around animals a lot, so it couldn't get better for me!

H&M eyeshadow brushes!

H&M. I love it. And you know it. I have been talking about my newest buys at H&M for forever now, but it's not over yet!

What are cosmetics if you don't have the tools to apply them? I own a few good brushes already, but the more variety, the better.
I didn't own a precise crease brush before, but when I saw this gold one, I just had to have it. I also got another flat brush. I use my flat brushes very often, an for different purposes, so a back-up was welcome.

Okay, the packaging was pretty simple, the brushes came in a plastic, little, seethrough box. The brushes themselves are... absolutely gorgeous!
I've never seen make-up brushes this stunning before. The look just really speaks to me. It makes me feel luxurious, like a queen!

The brushes are very soft an pick up eyeshadow just fine. I like that this crease brush had an angled brush on the other end. That one I like as well, I use it to apply eyeshadow as eyeliner, but most of the time I fill in my brows with it.

Like I said before, I love these brushes! They aren't too expensive but they work just fine!
Sigh, H&M, you got me!

H&M eyeshadow stick review

I love H&M. Unfortunately, the H&M close to me doesn't have a lot of beauty products to offer. Or they are sold out a lot of the time.
In Prague, I got a bunch of beauty products that I didn't get my hands on here! Today I'll be showing you my H&M eyeshadow sticks.

Ik heb drie kleurtjes gehaald: "Black", "Brown" and "Pink". I like the packaging, but I think the names are just boring. What can I say? I love a good name for a make-up product.
The eye pens can be used on your eyelid, but it can also be used as a base for eyeshadow.

As you can see, the pigmentation of this product is just fine, I think the colours are really pretty. I just don't get why they called the lightest colour "pink", I myself think it looks champagne, but that's fine. The eye pens are very smooth and creamy, which makes it easy to apply, but it makes it also easy to blend out the edges a little bit. I prefer using a special haired concealer brush rather than a normal flat brush though.

PS This black is PER-FECT for smokey eyes!

EOTD: Another little colour pop ♥

Hello everyone! Today I have another eye of the day for you!
I have had this one in my concepts for quite a while, I actually kind of forgot about it. It's a shame really, because I do like this look.

Like always, I used neutral colours on my eyelid and a bright colour underneath my eye.

For my eyes, I used my Essence palette in "To die for". Honestly, this palette is the PERFECT neutral palette. Perfect, I'm telling you! It's so cheap but the colours are amazingly pigmented and they ae good for everday. I even think you could use it to create a smokey eye for a night out.
I don't tell you enough how much I love this palette.

In my waterline, I used the Catrice inside eye higlighter pen, and on my lower lashline, I used a blue/purple colour from my ELF 144 bright eyeshadow palette.

What do you think?

NARS eyeshadow duo review

Hello everyone!
Today I'm going to be telling you about one of the most exciting products I got when I was in Prague.
For the first time ever I entered a Sephora, my god, it was like heaven!
I rushed from Benefit to Nars where I found a gorgeous little palette.
I was doubting between a couple of eyeshadow duo's, but I liked the one I ended up with the most!

Before I go ahead and talk about the colours and the pigmentation, I'm going to review the packaging.
Am I the only one who thinks Nars and ELF packaging is so similar?
It's literally thesame on the outside, but the mirror on the inside is bigger in my Nars eyeshadow duo.
Anyways, it's cute, it's simple but like I said before, I really don't need all my products to be over the top.

The name of the eyeshadow duo that I got is "MĂ©lusine". I wonder what it means!

Here are the colours! I have one shimmery, grey eyeshadow and one matte purple! You actually can't see it in the pictures because my camera didn't pick it up (hell, I didn't even notice it the first time I swatched this eyeshadow), but the silver actually has teeny tiny bits of shimmery purple in it. Really small, but it made me feel so cool when I spotted it.

Gorgeous, right?

Here are the swatches!
The pigmentation of this eyeshadow duo blew me away, like I knew it would. I like it a lot!
Of course, you pay quite a bit of money for it. But that's okay, I love mixing high end with drugstore products. It makes me feel good that I can afford something like this, but it makes me feel even better that I can still turn around and enjoy cheap make-up as well.

Here's a look I made with the purple (I used the purple from my Nars eyeshadow duo in my crease and "Sketch" by MAC in my outer corner).

Have a good day!

L'Oréal Color Infaillible eyeshadow review

If there's one product I've been wanting for a really long time, it's a L'Oréal infaillable eyeshadow.
During my trip to Germany and the Czech Republic, I decided I had saved up enough money to get some souvenirs, but also to get a couple of items that I would have liked to have for a long time. First, those brands were brands I didn't here or brands that were hard to get near where I live like Nars, Artdeco and MAC, but while I was at it, I got this L'Oréal eyeshadow as well.

The infaillable colour that I got is called "Forever Pink". I don't know for sure, but I think this eyeshadow is called "Amber Rose" in America. It could be another one though, but then they look alike a lot!

The packaging of this product, I find really beautiful. I love how you can see the colour through the plastic.

Talking about the colour! It's so, so beautiful!
It doesn't even look as pretty as it is in real life. It's so shimmery and pigmented!

Swatch!
Here's what the colour looks like on your eyes. Baby pink, shimmery, beautiful really!
I like to wear this on my eyes, only this, with a little bit of winged eyeliner.
Oh, and if I only wear one colour on my eyes, it must really mean I love it! It means I want all the attention to go to that colour. So yes, you could say I really like this colour!

Thank you for visiting and reading again today!

Artdeco lipstick review!

One of the brands that are hard to find in Belgium is Artdeco.
When I went Germany with school, I did some speed shopping (I mean, they had a Douglas next to the hotel) and I got myself a gorgeous lipstick.

I didn't get a red one because, well, it's not like I don't have any yet, right? Instead, I got a gorgeous "my lips but better" kind of colour!

Let's start off with the packaging. The Artdeco lipstick has a shiny black, square packaging with the name of the brand at the bottom. Nothing fancy, really.

The lipstick doesn't have a name, unfortunately. It just has a number, I guess.I don't even know if this is the number. Oh boy! I'll have to google this for a while!

Anyways, this is what it looks like. A very nice, nude, peachy kind of colour. It does have a little bit of sparkle but it's nothing too shimmery. In fact, I almost don't see it on my lilps.

Here you see the swatch.
It truely is gorgeous! And look how pigmented the colour is! I'm very happy with this lipstick, god, it is so incredibly beautiful! And it's also a nice twist when I don't want to wear red lipstick.

EOTD: A little gold, a little luck

Hello everyone!
Recently, I've been trying out a lot of new looks again.
This time, I'm doing a gold/orange/blue/brown kind of look. I actually recreated this one from AlisonlovesJB on YouTube. I think she's go gorgeous and she inspires me so much! What a little sweetheart she is!
I'll put the video down below.

After seeing this video, I of course wanted to try it. I used different colours and I didn't go as heavy on the eyeliner and blue eyeshadow as she did, but I still think it turned out really beautiful.

For this look I used:
*MAC "Amber Lights"
*MAC "Texture
*The Balm "Sleek" (from my Nude 'Tude palette)
*Essence sun club palette

What do you think?

Weekly Diary

Hello everyone! Happy Easter!
Nothing like a whole bunch of chocolate on a Sundaymorning, right? Before I start eating all of the chocolate, I want to share my experiences of last week with you guys.

I forgot to mention last week, but I actually published my 500th post this month, so I'm really happy with that!

As I told you last week, our guinea pig gave birth to six. Look how big they are already! So adorable! At first we were really scared they weren't going to make it, so I'm glad they all did!

Look what my boss gave me for Easter! She really is a little sweetheart!

This week I also decided to start writing down all the good things in my day. Or was it somewhere last week? Oh whatever!
The thing is, I went to the cinema and I wanted to keep the card as a memory. So I decided to grab an empty notebook, write down each good thing about that day and if I had something extra to remind me of that day (like the ticket at the movies), I would put it in the book as well!

My happy moments of today aren't filled in yet, but my happy moments of yesterday are:
*my orchid has flowers again

*I got to do two girls' make-up!

*I got a huge Easter egg from my boss

That's it! I hope you're all enjoying Easter as well!
Have a very lovely day and don't forget to eat a bit of chocolate!
