EOTD: Spring is just around the corner!

Goodmorning everyone!
These last few days have been cold, but sunny. I say this every year, but I feel like I'm always in a much better mood when the sun is shining. I have been wearing either really dark make-up or not much make-up at all, so I went for a put together, much lighter look today.
I still smoked it ou a bitt, but I actually used cranberry/orange/peach eyeshadow colours for this look! Here's a tip for you blue eyed girls (and boys) out there: these eyeshadows will make blue eyes pop!

I used my Nude 'Tude and Nude Dude palette from The Balm for this look, as well as my MAC make-up palette.

I also recorded a tutorial for this look, but right after applying foundation I moved a tiny bit, which means that I was out of focus the whole time. I will try to record it once again this week! If you have any other requests, don't hesitate to let me know!
Here are some full face pictures!

For my brows, I used the MUA eyebrow set. I used my Essence concealer underneith my eyes and my Catrice camouflage cream on my face.
My eyeliner and mascara are also by Essence.

Have a nice day!

Steam Pod!

Happy Monday everyone!
You know I like to change my appearance every once in a while. I have - once again - changed my hair colour. I'm blonde again. Turns out that I feel like this colour fits me the most. A lot of people think red is just too rough for me, and I also notice it in the way people treat me when I have different hair colours.

Anyway, the constant changing of my hair colour does damage my hair a bit. Especially going blonde is a bit of an unhealthy habit.
Aside from getting different hair colours, I also use quite a bit of heat on my hair: curling, straightening, putting it in really tight ponytails or knots,...

Time to make a change! One of the small changes I wanted to make, was using less heat. So I got myself a steam pod. If you aren't familiar with what a steampod is, it's a "healthy" hair straightener that uses steam.

I wasn't really convinced about this product until my hairdresser actually used it on my hair a couple of times. My sister told me that even though it's a rather large amount of money (€199), it's a good investment - and that maybe spending a bit more money on a healthier iron, would be nicer than having to chop my hair shorter and shorter everytime I go to the hairdressers.

I have used this Steam Pod for about a week now and I must say that I'm a really huge fan. I think it straightens very well without damaging my hair.

Because I haven't had the change to really document my hair before and after the use of this steam pod, I looked up some pictures online and found this one from Pinterest.
I don't think I need to say more, the pictures speak for themselves.

What do you think? Have you ever used or owned a steam pod?

Unpublished outfit of the day

Hello everyone! Thanks for tuning in again! Yesterday evening I had problems getting to sleep. I sometimes have days -or even weeks- where I have problems getting to sleep. My favourite thing to do when I can't sleep is browse on the Internet a little bit.

I grabbed my laptop and started writing a post or two, when suddenly I saw this untitled blog in my concepts. It turned out to contain outfit of the day pictures that I had forgotten about. I shot these pictures right before changing my hair colour back to blonde, which is why it might look a bit weird. Anyway, here's my long lost outfit of the day!

These are pictures of the café where my friend and I went after shooting my outfit pictures. I thought it looked so nice inside so I snapped a couple of pictures.

1 2 3... Perfect?

I've always had a love/hate relationship with my skin. Some days I like how it looks. Some days I wake up, look at myself, and want to crawl back into bed.
I have recently had some problems with my skin ànd I also ran out of my holy grail BB cream. Some would say this is a bad day, I thought it was a reason to go shopping for new make-up!

There were so many different options, but I've never had a Bourjois foundation.Until now!

The cat was interested for sure!

The packaging of this product is quite simple. I love the different colours  on it. It says "1 2 3", and then it says which three functions this foundation should have.
I was quite interesting to see if the results were as nice as promised!

When I first used this foundation, I noticed that maybe the shade was a little too yellow for me. It did work out just fine though.
This is what my face looks like after using the foundation. It's quite nice! I'm used to wearing a BB cream so I thought my foundation would feel "heavier" but actually, it doesn't feel heavy at all. The foundation covers most of my blemishes, it's medium coverage, but if I really have an acne break out or a tough spot, I need to go in with additional concealer.

I'm happy with the foundation! Maybe next time I could get another shade but everything else worked out as good as I hoped it would!
I paid €15.99 for this foundation. It is one of the more expensive foundations in the drugstore, but it works great!

Fresh spring day make-up look

Hey guys! How are you doing?
These last few days have been quite warm and sunny, which made me very happy! I came up with a bright, fresh make-up look today.
This make-up look contains greens and some silver, not something that I would normally do, but I thought it didn't look that bad. I used my The Balm "Balm Voyage" palette and my MAC palette using "Steamy" and "Plumage". I also used my Wet 'n Wild "Greed" palette for a neutral crease colour. You can click the links to read reviews on each seperate product.

Here are the pictures!
I also recorded a video, but I have yet to decide if I like the quality enough to put it on YouTube! For now, let me know what you think of this look!

EOTD: Stormy weather

Don't know why
There's no sun up in the sky
Stormy weather
....

I drew my inspiration for today's make-up look from Etta James' song. I don't work with gray colours very often because I simply prefer wearing gold/orange/brown/nude shades, but I do like the change, for once!

I used my "Balm Voyage" palette for this look. It's my third palette by The Balm and I am still very convinced of its quality. I put on some eyeliner and mascara as well (by Essence, as always).

Let me know what you think!

GHENT

Hi everyone!
As you know, I love to travel around and visit new places. Recently, I've done two blogposts about Bruges (click here and here to read the posts) and this summer I did a few posts on my trip to Barcelona, Spain. (Click here and here for the places we saw. And here, here and here for outfits).

Last week I had the tast to introduce a group of international students to Belgium. We saw quite a few places that week. One of those places was Ghent.
When I got home and looked at the pictures that I took in Ghent, that I thought it might be nice to share these with you.

All the students were very surprised and excited about Ghent. If you ever find yourself in Belgium, don't forget to visit Ghent!

Manicure: True Love! ♥

Hello everyone! How have you been doing?
I'm quite busy this week, as you might have noticed. I'm guiding Erasmus students around with a couple of my friends, so I'm looking forward to that! Before I leave, I'd like to tell you at the nailpolish that I decided to go for today!
It's one that I've actually had for quite a while, yet I've never written a post about it!

This nailpolish is probably the nicest berry/red-ish nailpolish I own. It's by Essence and it's called "True love".
This nailpolish, like other Essence nailpolishes, is very affordable and good quality! Two layers are enough for the perfect coverage and the texture is so nice!

I absolutely LOVE this nailpolish, I think it's very cute: girly but still classy.
Not too harsh!
What do you think?
