October & November empties

Hi guys! November is about to end so today I have an empties post for you. Last month I didn't do one because I only had one item so I decided to post it along with the products of this month. I emptied a lot of makeup this month! Woah! Powder, eyebrow pencil, eyeliner and mascara!

I only have reviews on the Essence products, I'll link them below in case you want to check them out!

Catrice All Matt plus shine controle foundation review

A few weeks I decided I wanted to try a new foundation by Catrice called the "All matt plus" foundation, which should work against oily skin and shine. Of course, that sounded interesting to me and so I took it with me. Now what do I think of it?

I love the packaging of this foundation. Catrice has a lot of matt glass foundation packages and I don't know why but I always like the look of that! This foundation promises to be mattifying, longlasting and oil free.

I got the colour "Nude Beige", which is the second lightest colour. I decided not to go for the lightest 0because I'm already very pale and I'm tired of the "are you feeling sick?" questions.

As you can see the foundation covers quite well, I think it looks good! Luckely, it matches my skintone!
Even though the foundation promises to be "super matt", I still think a bit of mattifying powder is in order. There is still a bit of shine. You could, if you wanted to, only use powder on your T-zone and use the shine as a natural "glow" on your cheekbones. I myself am not a big fan so I just like to use powder all over.

Aside from the "all matt shine control" that wasn't 100%, I have no other negative remarks. My skin has been reacting very well to this product and I enjoy using it. Another budget hit for Catrice, yay!

Photo tutorial: Everyday winter makeup look

When winter comes around, I always like to change my daily makeup look. Most of the time, it becomes darker. A couple of weeks ago I created a new daily makeup look that is a little bit darker and I've been wearing it ever since. I decided to make a photo tutorial on it in case you girls wanted to recreate it!

For this look, I used my "Nude 'Tude" palette by the Balm.
First, I put a yellow colour called "Snobby" on my eyelid. I placed "Sultry" in my crease and blended it out well. Next, I used "Seductive" in my outer corner to darken it up a little bit. I blended that as well. I re-applied "Snobby" on my lid, in case the colour faded after blending. Next, highlighter time! I used the white colour "Sassy" for this. Eyeliner, mascara and we're done!

The colours that I used in detail... If you don't have this makeup palette at home, you can still recreate it with other colours that you have laying around!

Thanks for reading again today! Make someone smile today! :)

Can winter pictures make you smile?

Hi guys!
How have you been doing? Since it's getting colder and darker really fast (we already had a little bit of snow here!) I thought instead of complaining, I would post a couple pictures that possibly could make you smile!
There's not a lot of explaining to do so I'd say: enjoy the pictures!

I hope this brightened your day a little bit! Thanks for reading!
Make today a good day!

Makeup and cookbook haul!

Hello everyone! Today I have a quick haul for you guys. I did some shopping and came back home with some clothes (that you will probably see in outfit of the day pictures) but also a little bit of makeup and cookbooks. Yup. How to make cupcakes if you want to be exact.

I've always wanted to learn how to make cupcakes and I'm quite ashamed to admit that at 17 years old, I cannot make a single cupcake. I want to change that though! I've always wanted a cupcake shop and even though those plans aren't in the near future (and might not ever come true), I still want to become a good cupcake maker!

Then I also got a lipgloss that was on clearance, a new foundation and an eyeshadow duo from a limited edition.
Does any one of you know how to get the foundation from the bottem out of the bottle? The thing is, my foundation is nearly empty, I just can't finish it because I can't seem to get the foundation out of the bottle. I have tried putting it up side down, it has been standing like this for two days, yet, no resullt! Let me know if you have any tips or tricks!

Weekly Diary

Hi you guys! What's up? Another week has passed! I have had quite a busy week and I have another couple of busy weeks coming up! Next week is my last week before the exams and then it's two weeks of studying for me! I'm not really excited but I guess I'm going to try and make the best of it! First, let's review last week!

Last week I went to pick up some new beauty stuff (a foundation that I needed and a couple of products that I can't wait to review)! I also got myself two cupcake cook books. I've always wanted to have a little cupcake shop but I don't know how to make them, haha! Actually, I wanted to become a chef but the training is pretty damn pricy! We'll see what the future brings!

I find it hard to put together my outfits ever once in a while when it's winter. The problem is that I tend to go with a lot of black which makes my outfit darker and darker, I guess I like to play safe. I do like this new shirt though, it has a tiger on it! Cute, don't you think? And it makes it less boring and less black!

Another tiger! Mini though! Haha :)

I like to take myself out for lunch with a good meal and a good book (and sometimes the company of a dog or a friend). Last week I went to the park and decided I wanted to have lunch in this little house...

... but when I got inside, I saw that this little renovated place was messed up by kids writing all kinds of vulgar stuff (and phone numbers) on the walls. Oh, how ashamed I am to be a part of this generation every once in a while. I wonder what they are thinking...

Enjoying the view!

Loving this new song by Katy Perry! And look how beautiful the video is!

I hope you enjoyed my tiny week overview! For more, you can follow me on Instagram.
See you next week?
Make today a good day!

I don't own any of these pictures, I just found them online. If you know who makes these tutorials, let me know in the comments below!

A sneak peek inside my beauty closet: concealers

Good concealers are everything. EVERYTHING. I have skin problems which result to acne and because of my light skintone, dark circles show up easier. Concealer is really my thing. Want to see which ones I have? Just keep on reading and you'll find out!

I'll start on the left and go to the right, I think that's the easiest.
So the first concealers that you see is actually a palette by Catrice. It holds a pink, a green and three skintone colours. I got this one a long while ago and I used the lightest concealers to shape my eyebrows. All gone in no time. Very creamy, medium coverage, easy to use concealers. Love it! I don't use the pink one (they say it's for your undereyes but it just makes mine look worse) so the only reason I keep the palette is for the green concealer - it neutralises redness!

The next concealer is by Hema, which is a shop that can be found in The Netherlands and Belgium, where I live. It's a concealer stick so to get good application, you need to warm it up first. I used to like this but lately I haven't touched it anymore. I think it's too visible.

Next I have my Garnier roller which is actually a good one because the roller ball is super cold, so when you feel the cold on your eyes in the morning, it will automatically reduce swelling. The coverage is medium.

Then I have a biocura concealer which does nothing and an Yves Rocher concealer that I was very disappointed about - I will link every review below so you can see what I liked/disliked about the products. Since I didn't like these, I'm not going to talk about it too much in this post.

Next I have my match 2 cover concealer duo by Essence. I use this for my face, my eyes, and shaping my eyebrows. Really nice product and I love how you can mix the two colours to get your exact skintone match!

And last but definitely not least are my two concealers by Catrice. These ones are 'new' in the assortment and god! That coverage though! I can hide anything with it! No matter how red or annoying it is, this concealer fixes it! I love it!

Here are the links to more in depth reviews that I have written! Want to see a review on a particular product? Let me know!

Favourite books and recommendations!

I haven't written about books in quite a while! Today I thought it would be fun to show you the books that I've loved and would recommend! I know not all of you are readers and not all of you like books, that's okay! This post is especially for the people who do like to read!
Good. Are you ready for my favourite books?

1. Any Stephen King book
When I read Stephen King books, I have to read them during the day, reading stories this creepy (but let's face it: genious) is not something for when it's dark or for when I'm home alone. But there's one thing we all agree on: Mr. King is really a king when it comes to thrillers.

2. Divergent Trilogy
I haven't enjoyed a series in a really long time (exept for Harry Potter) and this series! This is a trilogy by Veronica Roth, it's a dystopian story. I honestly enjoyed reading these books so much! The third one, "Allegiant", has been released a little while ago. I can't wait to pick it up and read it! I can't even describe how much I enjoyed it.

3. J.K. Rowling
Everyone knows how much I love J.K. Rowling. Not just the Harry Potter series, but her newest book "A Casual Vacancy" as well! It couldn't be more different than Harry Potter but this shows that J.K.
Rowling is an amazing author.

4. The boy in the striped pyjamas
Nearly everyone knows the boy in the striped pyjamas. If it isn't because of the book, it is because of the movie. What can I say, both the book and the movie were really good. I love books and I love war stories so that made me excited to read the book already. It is written so well and explained so well, and even though the two main characters in the books are kids, I didn't feel like it was written in a childish way. It was so fasciating!

1. The dog who spoke with gods
One of my first "big" books I read when I was a kid was this one: "The dog who spoke with gods" by Diane Jessup. My mom read it and let me read it. It broke my heart. This book is about a dog in a kennel and a girl who's studying to become a surgeon, like her dad and granddad. The only problem is, she'll have to test on dogs and that scares her. It isn't right. One day she goes to visit the dogs who are captured and being tested on, when she finds this dog that she has a connection with. She breaks about any rule in the book in order to keep the dog alive and to remain friends. I can't explain it, you just have to READ it. It for sure is a big book but don't let that scare you. The story is truely amazing and inspiring - and it also gives a few different views on animal testing.

I honestly cried my eyes out while I was coming towards the end of this book. I have so many positive things to say about it. This is a book that you should read, even if you don't like reading! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone!

That's it! My favourite books! Don't forget to let me know what your favourite books are or if you have different opinions on the books I showed today. I do have many more favourite books so maybe I should make a sequal? Let me know!
Don't forget to check these books out, by the way! Thanks for reading!

A sneak peek inside my beauty closet: pressed powders

I am obsessed with seeing what other people have in their stash. I don't know why, I just like seeing that every once in a while. For a while now, I've been showing little parts of my "beauty closet". Not in a video, but just with pictures. Today I'll be showing you my pressed powders! Ready?!

The powders that I have here is my all about matt powder by Essence, a (very light) powder by Biocura and a powder by Miss Sporty.

The Essence powder was the favourite of the three. Was? Yup, was. I have used this whole thing up already! What can I say? It's a great translucent powder!
The one by Biocura is great as well, but it isn't a fixing/mattifying powder, unfortunately. However, sometimes I ony use my mattifying powder on my T-zone and put the Biocura powder everywhere else on my face.

The Miss Sporty powder was the powder that my mom recommended me when I just started out with makeup, so I've been using that for a really long time (I think this is my third powder!), until I noticed that it's actually too dark for me. Whoops! Maybe in summer I can use this to contour my face!

Since I ran out of my Essence powder, I had to replace it with something right? I got this powder by Catrice. It's mattifying too and it works soo well!

I will be linking all the reviews below, in case you want to read more about these products!

OOTD: Almost Winter

Hey guys! Remember this swing dress? Today I'm back with a little outfit of the day! Even though it's getting colder and colder, I still try to wear skirts and dresses every once in a while.I decided it was time for my swing dress with flamingo's to be worn again so... Here it is! I would like to get a nice, vintage jacket that is detailled on the waist and has faux fur on it but I haven't purchased anything yet so. I think I will start collecting more winter items soon, as it's getting really cold, really fast!

Body Collection palette review

Hello everyone! Today I have another makeup palette review for you!
I didn't really need another makeup palette but, I just couldn't resist! This is the Body Collection makeup palette. I have never had makeup by Body Collection so of course  I was very interested to see what it would be like! The packaging looked interesting for sure! Unfortunately there was no "test" palette so I had my doubts but I decided to take it home with me in the end!

As you can see below, it's shiny black packaging with a few "windows" through which you can see the eyeshadow colours. There are 48 different colours in here by the way!

Take a look at that! What a lovely colours! It reminds me of my ELF 144 colour palette, it's just a bit smaller! I think this would be a great item to start out with if you're just getting into makeup. It has a lot of browns, golds, greens, blues, purples, blacks. Daily looks, fun colourful look, smokey eyes, I think this palette could make all of it work. But before I get too excited about it, let's look at the swatches. If they're not any good...

The swatches are quite nice! Well pigmented, only a little bit of fall out. There's a bit variety of colours in here and none of them are disappointing! Why is this brand not available in my city? Oh, I know, probably because I'd shop too much there! First item, really great item! I will remember to bring other palettes next time I visit a shop that has this brand!

This palette was only €7.65, which isn't really expensive for 48 well pigmented colours. Like I said, I love this palette a lot! Great beginners item as well! If you can get your hands on it, try it!

Weekly Diary

Hello everyone! How are you? Sunday rolled around again, so here's another Weekly Diary. This week, I've been quite busy with school. All the teachers want to give a test for the last report card, because after that, the exams start. Ugh, I don't like exams, I hope I can write ahead two weeks, but I'm not sure I will be able to.

First of all, I got myself a couple of new T-shierts. They were on sales and, well, T-shirts are never wrong. I found this one that said 'blogger' and I got so excited! I took it home with me!

I love interior designing and I get a lot of inspiration from tumblr! Yes, I also do want a hanging library!

Nails done! I've been paying extra attention to my nails lately! Manicure post will be up in a while!

04:19 and still up because I wasn't feeling well. Upset tummy - unfortunately I had been awake for two to three hours everyday because of my tummy.
My dad was up also because he had to leave for work but when I texted him if he would put some water on the stairs he texted me back he was already on his way to work in the car.
Later, he returned and got me the bottle of water. Half an hour later, my tummy was feeling a little better and I was sleeping peacefully!
I truely love my daddy, nobody cares for me like he does. I don't know what I should do without him ♥.

Aside from the blue nails, I also had red halfmoon manicure nails this week! They make me feel so pin-up and confident!

If you want to see more/other pictures, you can follow me on Instagram.
Thanks for reading! Have a lovely Sunday!
