Revolution blush palette review

Goodmorning everyone! I'm back with a product that I'm crazy excited about! 

Today I'm going to tell you about my ultra blush palette by Revolution. I am a huge blush fan (always have been) so when I found this palette, I could barely keep it together!

 

Although the packaging looks exactly thesame as all the other palettes, what's inside is absolutely stunning.This blush palette holds eight different colours. Some of them are sparkly, some of them are matt. The colours vary from peach to pink to tan, which is amazing because there's something in this palette for everyone.

Here's a closer look! 

The colours are quite pigmented. I tried the second one starting from the left on the top row a couple of days ago and you have to be so so careful with these blushes because of the pigment in it. I tried the more nude shades on the left side of the palette as well and those too are very pigmented.

The blushes on the right are very shimmery and metallic so I use those as highlighters. Below you can find a picture of what I look like after a long day. The blush is still there, it has faded a little but I think it looks quite natural. Nice!

Maybelline "Nude Embrace" lipstick review

Nude has been trending for some time now. I'm 100% for a nude look when it comes to eye make-up, but nude lipstick has never really been my thing.
I walk into a beauty store, get a nude lipstick and I will absolutely love it. But the minute I come home, I fall back out of love with it.
Nude not being your shade is absolutely okay, but stubborn as I am, I decided to give it one last chance before finally giving up.

I spent a good hour (or maybe two) at the drugstore and came home with a Maybelline lippy called "Nude Embrace". The colour doesn't look too exciting but it is a nude so it's not supposed to stand out that much.

I like the swatch of this lipstick a lot. You can really see how pigmented it is. 

After all these years I finally found a nude that I like! Below you can find a before and after picture. The lipstick applies very well and is very pigmented, however it does feel a little dry after a while. I do really like this one though, it's just a matter of moisturizing your lips before and after applying this lipstick.

I also don't like to apply too much, because that will make you look a little sick. This lipstick is also gorgeous with some lipgloss on top of it!

Essence Stay All Day foundation & concealer review!

For years now, my skin has been a bit of a problem. I am confident enough to walk out without make-up on my face. However, I do prefer a bit of foundation or concealer.

I'm always looking for a good new concealer and the last years I've been quite happy with Essence's foundations, BB creams and other face products. I have been testing their Stay All Day foundation and concealer for a month now, let's see what I think about these products!

The day before I shot the pictures for this article, I had a huge acne breakout, which wasn't great for me, but I'm sure it's good for you because you'll be able to see the result to the fullest.

Okay, make-up less face in the picture below. Biggest problem areas are my chin, left cheek and forehead.

 

I don't use primer or daycream or anything, because I notice I can't blend as well normally.

I use my hands to cover my face, brushes don't work so well with this foundation either. I don't use a beauty sponge but I do think that might work out as well.

I did struggle a bit with this foundation in the beginning, simply because I tried using primers and brushes first - which lead to some very weird structures on my face, but now it works out just fine for me.

The concealer works like a dream. It's a buildable concealer, so it's not cakey at all. I like to apply just one layer underneath my eyes.

I chose one shade lighter than the foundation. Occasionally I also use it for covering up blemishes on my face.

I'm once again, very satisfied with the Essence face products.

Catrice ultimate stay lipstick

As you may have noticed in the past, I am absolutely crazy about lipsticks.

Last week, I got one by Catrice. This is the ultimate stay lipstick. I have never had one like this before so I was very excited to try it.

 

 

The packaging of this lipstick is pretty simple. It's a matte black tube and aside from the brand name, there's not much to see on the tube.

The lipstick is a dark, burgundy colour. It's so beautiful and fall appropriate. This makes me want fall season to get here, to be quite honest with you! 

The colour is called "Plum & Base".

This swatch is so beautiful! The colour is pigmented really well. Applying is a pleasure because the lipstick is so creamy. 

I think this lipstick is a score! I don't have many Catrice lipsticks but since this one didn't let me down, I might get more!

Wet 'n Wild make-up palettes!

Back when I was in high school and started to experiment with make-up, I used to look up neutral make-up tutorials to wear to school.

I very often saw Wet 'n Wild products in the tutorials but I couldn't find them in the stores (they weren't available in Belgium) and ordering online wasn't really something I was allowed to do back then.

 

Recently I was actually in the store looking for scented candles when I saw these Wet 'n Wild make-up palettes underneath another big stack of make-up. I got three palettes.

The palettes look pretty basic. Black plastic, see through material. Six eyeshadow colours, three on each side. This palette also comes with two tiny make-up brushes.

 

Let's take a look at the palettes! 

Vanity

This first palette is called "Vanity". I like the colours, they all suit my eye colour and skintone very well! This is for sure a palette that I will use on a daily basis!

The pigmentation of the eyeshadows is rather good! Some of them look a little crumbly but overall, not bad! 

Lust

The second palette, called "Lust" is a gorgeous palette with pink and purple toned colours.

Gorgeous colours, great pigmentation! Again, a little crumbly. 

Greed

The third palette is a palette with some really dark colours and some really light colours. I can think of both neutral and very out of the box looks with this palette.

The pigmetnation of the lighter colours could have been a bit bigger, but the dark colours are well pigmented.

I'm quite happy with these palettes. Keep checking the blog for make-up looks created with these palettes!

Essence mosaic compact powder review

When I was younger, I limited myself to eye make-up most of the time. I never really thought about the rest of the face, except for blush maybe.

Since then, I've learned that the face is also important. I started with concealing and right now I bronze, highlight, contour, the whole lot.

 

I have used my bronzer quite a lot recently, which led to serious pan at first, and empty packaging later. I went out looking for a new one and found something that I thought looked decent. This is the Essence mosaic compact powder.

The packaging of this product is rather normal and average, but I love how they made it 3D. Some parts are "sticking up" a little more. The way a product looks doesn't define the quality, but it sure is nice to have a product that looks special.

This bronzing powder is made of darker and lighter parts. I just mix all the shades together.

This mosaic compact powder is just the right colour for my skin. I was afraid it'd be too light but it's good. The powder is very nice to work with, it crumbles a little bit but not to the point where it's disturbing. As with all Essence products, it's affordable! I use this powder for bronzing and contouring.

This is what the powder looks like on my face. As you can see I used it to contour my cheekbones and my forehead a little bit.

 I like this product! 

Essence liquid eyeliner - updated version review!

 

Eyeliner is my signature look. My god, I love eyeliner. For years now, I've been applying a little black line close to my lashline to make my eyes pop.
In all those years, I have used thesame eyeliner by thesame brand - simply because it's a good product. Recently Essence, the brand that makes the eyeliner I use, has updated their eyeliner and I'm going to review the updated version for you! If you want to see the old product, I reviewed it right here!

 

The first thing that has changed is the packaging. It is now oval. I don't know why they changed it because I liked the previous packaging but okay.
The colours stayed thesame.

 

When I opened this eyeliner, I noticed it didn't have the brush I'm used to. It used to have a soft brush that was quite flexible, and I thought it worked fine.
Anyway, it has changed, it now has an "extra soft tip". It is flexible as well but sometimes it doesn't distribute the product evenly, which means I have to go over thesame line twice or even three times. It happened with the other brush as well, but not as much.

The pigmentation of the product has not changed.

This is what the eyeliner looks like on my eye. I think it looks fine and I think the product still works well. I have no idea why Essence decided to change their product because the previous version was fine.

EOTD: Satin Taupe

Hi you guys!

How are you doing? 

I heard there's a MAC cosmetics store coming to Bruges (where I live), which I am so excited about!

That's why in today's post, I've incorportated a MAC eyeshadow.

Normally I always, ALWAYS use some kind of gold or orange in my make-up looks because I like the way it looks (and because it enhances blue eyes), but today I have a very "cold" make-up look.

To be quite honest, I'm surprised by how much I like this look!

So the first thing I did was prime my eyes with my Essence I ♥ Stage eyeshadow base.

Next I used my MAC "Espresso" eyeshadow and I dusted it in my crease very lightly. Next, I applied a black eyeshadow in my outer corner and blended it out enough to keep this look neutral. 

A good tip to help blending is to take the blending brush with "Espresso" on it and to go over the black with that brown colour.

That way your blending will look flawless!

On my lid, I applied "Satin Taupe" by MAC.

This colour is quite neutral and I haven't worn it a lot, but I really started to love it!

I applied some liquid eyeliner, kohl eyeliner and mascara. All of those products are by Essence.

Essence All About Matte BB cream review

Hi there! What's going on?
I'm here today to tell you all about my newest BB cream. As you might know, I'm the biggest fan of Catrices BB creams, but apparently they disappeared... so I had to look for something else!

This one by Essence is the one I chose to replace my favourite BB cream with. I have never tried it before but... I mean, I have a beautyblog so of course I'm going to test it! That's what I'm here for! 

First things first I'm the realest: packaging. The BB cream comes in a tube, which I like a lot!
This packaging is beige and pink, which is so adorable! I sometimes think that the Essences make-up stand looks a little childish, but this, I like!

This is what my face looks like before using any product. As you can see, I have a few moles but I also have some old acne scars.

This is what my face looks like after using the Essence BB cream. My acne scars are gone. My moles aren't, but that's not what I wanted anyway (no foundation in my collection does that).

 

As promised, the BB cream is oil free, which is really good because I have oily skin. I only have one remark: the colours are pretty limited. I'm sure not everyone will find there colour, there are only two or three colours available.

I'm pretty happy with my new BB cream. It works well, it's budget, I love it!
That's how easy make-up can be sometimes!
