EOTD: Feeling Feline

Goodmorning! How are you?
These last few weeks have been so weird. First, a lot of sun, then two weeks of rain, ...
This eye of the dayis a look that I created during one of those rainy days. I used my "Balm Voyage" make-up palette and my "Nude Tude" palette by The Balm to create this look.
I'm a huge fan of The Balm and their products, and I use them on a weekly basis to create looks.

Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Thanks so much for reading! I'll see you on Saturday!

Travel Diary: Villa Adriana

Happy Monday!

I hope you don't have any Monday blues this week.
I wouldn't say I have Monday blues today, but I am feeling a bit sad looking at today's post - in this post, I'm going back to Villa Adriana in Tivoli (Italy) and I just wish I could actually go back instead of through pictures.

Villa Adriana is one of my favourite places in Italy. It takes about an hour to get there and when you're in the train, you're treated to spectacular views.

Villa Adriana is a huge residence that King Hadrian had built and it's absolutely gorgeous. There's a palace, libraries, theatres, a pool, altars, a sports stadium, an art gallery and much more!
The buildings that you find here are just a little leftover of what used to be there. It's mindblowing to see. I couldn't help but wonder how man, so tiny and vulnerable, can build such great things.

The first thing we saw when we walked in was this model.
It shows what you can find in Villa Adriana and just seeing this already blew my mind. Very exciting!

We've actually spent the whole day in Tivoli, taking your time to walk around and see everything is a must for sure!

Have a look!

I've never in my life seen something like this and I'm so happy and thankful to have had this experience! This is something I'll never forget.

If you ever get the chance to go see Villa Adriana in real life; don't hesitate to do it. It really is worth it!

Thanks for reading!
Have a lovely day!

EOTD: Darkness

Goodmorning everyone!
How have you been? I've been feeling like dressing up a bit more lately. Do you even get tons of inspiration, just like that?
Well, that's what recently happened to me. I have done simple make-up for months now (just winged eyeliner, no eyeshadow,...), but now I felt like actually getting my palettes out and do some good old blending.

My look is based off of the weather (about a week ago). It was quite dark and rainy outside. I used my Sleek "Storm" palette to achieve this look.

Travel Diary: Forum Romanum

Good morning everyone! Thanks for tuning in again today!
Let me take you on a short trip. Today, I'll be showing you one of my favourite places in Rome: Forum Romanum.

Forum Romanum used to be the buzzing center of ancient Rome. It's filled with ruins these days and even though the buildings aren't intact anymore, they are very impressive.
The picture below is a picture of what the old city center looks like from a 'bird's perspective'. I actually didn't realise how much ruins there were until I shot this picture.

I can't help but wonder what this must have looked like in the past?
Sometimes I really wish time travelling was a thing. It's so breathtaking now, I can't imagine what it was like back then.

Let the pictures blow your mind!

You can easily spend a whole day exploring Forum Romanum. We spent the whole morning, and after that we went to the Colosseum.
You literally just have to cross the street to get to the Colosseum, so that's quite nice.

This place is for sure in my top three of favourite places to see in Rome.
Have you ever been there? What are your favourite places in Rome (if you've been there)? Or where would you like to go?

A perfect day for brunch!

Goodmorning everyone!
Exams are over and I'm ready to start enjoying the summer break! I could really get away from everything right now. I'm looking forward to travelling, meeting up with friends I haven't seen for a while, and my birthday!

Normally I combine celebrating my birthday with seeing the friends that I haven't seen in a long time. Every year I throw a big brunch for my best friends. When I turned eighteen (almost two years ago), I had them come over to enjoy a buffet that me and my best friend (who's a chef) made together and we spent the afternoon at an amusement park. It was so much fun! I don't know what we'll do this year, but there will be a brunch to start off our day - that's for sure!

Even though I've found some amazing places to get brunch since I've moved to Bruges, I love to have brunch at my best friend's place.
He has the most amazing house (and a lovely sense of style), which impresses and inspires me everytime. I'd love to have him decorate my place when I get a house of my own.
It would mean a lot to me if you could show him some love, so I'll leave his Instagram right here. If you're interested in interior design, antiques, vintage, or you're just curious, you can go check it out.

When the weather is good, we like to have our guests outside from a glass of bubbly, some orange juice or coffee.
On my eighteenth birthday, I also had special cards made with their name on it in the most amazing calligraphy. On the background, everyone had another drawing that I thought represented them. For example an owl, or a pin-up girl, ...
I thought it was so much fun, it's special and unique, and most of all: very personal. Most of my friends keep it in a frame or on the wall in their house, which makes me happy because it represents a lovely memory.
You can make all the details unique - even down to the invites!

When everyone has arrived, they get to attack the buffet we set up and then we guide them to the next room, which is decorated with flowers, candles and the nicest porcelain. I normally don't care if my fork is made out of silver or stainless steel, but when I'm at Miguel's place, I truely feel like a princess.

As for clothing, I usually go for maxi skirts or maxi dresses. They're warm enough and yet not too warm during summer. I also thinks it looks really classy!
As for make-up... Well, it depends on my mood, I can never really tell in advance....

Do you like brunches?

Let me know what you think!

OOTD: Roman goddess

Channeling your inner goddess is very necessary every once in a while. The normal, daily and sometimes boring routines can make you lack inspiration.  I can reinvent myself through fashion and make-up. I love the fact that a new eye look, some lipstick, a different hair do or a new pair of shoes can make you feel like a totally different person.

Just before leaving to go to Rome - which was a much needed break from my own routines - , I picked up a long, white maxi dress. Simple, yet elegant - and I remember feeling like a true goddess when I put it on for the first time.

I wore this dress to Vatican City, where it is required to cover up - but walking around in this dress - I didn't mind covering up at all.
My dress is from Pimkie. There's some gold detailing around the neck. That's why I decided to put on gold sandals and my gold watch.

I hope you've enjoyed watching these pictures. Below, I have a couple more. This time, I'm behind the camera instead of in front of it.

See you soon!
