Catrice All Round Mascara review!

Good morning everyone! How are you doing?
I'm doing quite good these days, kicking it back old school and with not too much make-up. These last weeks I have skipped make-up quite often and I must admit, I don't have any problems with it anymore. It's so refreshing to go make-up free.
Of course, I'm a beauty lover at heart and I won't try to convince you a little mascara can't do little miracles. In fact, if there was one thing I could use for the rest of my life, it'd probably be mascara.

A little really can go a long way. I do let my skin breathe more often than I did before, but a bit of mascara will always give your look a boost.
Today I'm trying Catrice's All Round black mascara - one of the cheapest ones they have, but mascara doesn't have to be expensive. Drugstore mascaras, I find, are just as good as high end mascaras.

This mascara comes in a red tube. It's nice to have a bit of colour in my collection, but other than that the packaging is quite "normal".

The brush isn't very exciting. It's got a small tip, which is good for inner and outer corners of the eyes. Other than that, it's pretty basic. I'm actually happy to see a mascara brush that doesn't look scary for once!

I wouldn't say I'm very surprised with the volume this mascara gives me. Length however, I can't complain about. I apply about two to three coats of mascara to get the best result.

Is it a good mascara? Yes, as a basic item, I do think so. I also think that if you're going to use three layers everytime you apply mascara, you might as well go for a little bit of a more expensive option and apply less layers each time, but that's personal. If you're a girl (or boy) that only applies one layer, by all means, go for it. I, personally, love some extra volume and will therefore look for a mascara with more volume.

However, for €2.99, I think we have to be fair and admit this is not a bad product at all.

Essence Get Big Lashes triple black!

Hey you guys! How are you doing?
If you read my blog often, you know I always use liquid eyeliner and mascara by Essence.
I have had two different kinds of "Get big lashes" mascara by Essence and last week I got the "triple black" version!

The packaging of this mascara is nice. It's thesame as all the other "get big lashes" mascara packaging, but it has different colours. I like the hot pink and purple!

This is what the brush looks like.

Now I'm sure you want to see the effect of this mascara on my lashes. Here it is!
I think this mascara is alright, it gives me long, black lashes. That's what I want!

This picture was shot after work and as you can see, my liquid eyeliner is giving up in this picture, haha!

Essence Get Big Lashes volume boost mascara review

Hello everyone! These last few weeks I've been trying a new mascara. This one is by Essence and it's called "Get Big lashes". As you might know, I have had one of these already in a silver packaging. I thought it was thesame (because the name is thesame) but actually the brush is different. Not a problem, because I think this one works just fine as well!

Let's start with the packaging. I do think some people might not like it because it looks a bit childish but I actually think it's fun to have colourful packaging every once in a while.

This is what the brush looks like. It's really big, which is always a little difficult for me to work with because I can't get to the bottom of my eyelashes without poking myself in the eye. But practice makes perfect, you know.

I find that this mascara only gives me a little bit of volume, but it does give me a lot of length and even a bit of curl (of course I use an eyelash curler for that little bit of extra oomf.) Good enough for me, but I'm not the most picky person when it comes to mascara.

I'm happy with this lovely, budgetproof Essence eyeliner. I think it looks really good. What do you think? Do you have a favourite brand for mascara?

2B blue mascara review

Hello!
Coloured mascara started trending again so today I want to talk to you about the newest blue mascara that I got. I recently got a new one from 2B, which is a nice, budgetproof brand that's available in the drugstore. 2B has lots of colours in their assortment: they have green, blue, purple, orange (...). I was doubting a little bit but I decided to go for blue because it was the one I wanted the most ànd I thought it would look good on my blue eyes.

First, I want to show you the "before" pictures. No makeup on my eyes at all! I'd like to show you how the mascara looks in combination with eyeshadow, but I'll do it later. I'm scared that you won't see the results as well if I've put on eyeshadow already in this post.

And this is how my eyes look after two coats of "mega grey blue" mascara by 2B...

I don't have the feeling I get much volume from this mascara but they do make my lashes longer. You have to be careful with clumbs! Overall the mascara is a "good" mascara, but it's not surprisingly good, it doesn't have that "wow" effect that I'm looking for (but it's not horrible either). The only "special" thing about it is the colour. I will continue using this, I love the colour and the length of my lashes when I use this!

Are you loving coloured mascara or do you stay with the neutrals like brown and black?
Thanks for reading! Have a lovely day!

Essence get big lashes volume curl mascara review

Hello! Happy Saturday you guys! I hope you're all enjoying your weekend and getting ready for Monday.

If there's one thing I never skip in my makeup routine, it's my mascara. I like trying out new brands and mascaras so today I'm going to test a mascara that I got by Essence. I do have a lot of eyeshadow palettes by Essence but I never tried their mascara before....

The mascara I'm testing today is the Essence "get big lashes volume curl" mascara.
I do like the packaging, it's cute and girly and it got my attention rightaway.

The shape of the wand is a little bit different than what I'm used to. As you can see it's bend. This makes it a little easier to apply the mascara - and I guess it curls the lashes a little bit better too. I curl my lashes before applying mascara anyway so for me it doesn't make a big difference.

And here are the results of the mascara test...

The mascara is quite nice even though you have to be very careful with it. Two layers is the absolute maximum and even then you have to be careful not to get spider lashes. The mascara does make my lashes longer and darker. Volume? Hmm a little, but not so much.

Conclusion? I do like the mascara. It gives me the result I want and it's super budgetproof.

Makeup haul!

Hello you guys!
Today I went shopping a little bit to get new shoes and pants that I needed. I had a lot of fun and bought a lot of clothing that I will be showing in outfit of the day pictures. I - of course - also got a few makeup item.
Most of the items that I got aren't really new, they just weren't available in my store until now! I got a new mascara by Essence, a translusent powder, two new concealers and two new makeup brushes! I'm very excited to test and review them all for you.
They look extremely good and I'm glad I got the chance to buy them!

See you soon!

Nivea Lash Elastic Mascara review!

Hi guys! Way before I started my makeup challenge in January, I made sure I got back up items for products that I used on a daily basis.
One of those products is mascara, I use it everyday and so I wanted to make sure I got another one before starting the challenge.
The one that I got was one that I hadn't tried before, it's the Nivea Lash Elastic Mascara.

The first thing I noticed when I pulled out the wand is how long and skinny it was. Most of my used mascara's had a thick, short wand so it was a bit weird getting used to this again.

The packaging of the mascara is pretty basic. It's just blue with gold letters. It holds 8 ml I thought it would be interesting to mention there's a symbol on the tube which says it's okay to use in case you wear lenses.

I got a black mascara. I prefer black over brown, it makes my eyes pop more.

So like I said, the wand is pretty long and small. This is how it looks.

To be honest, I was surprised in a very good way with this mascara. I didn't think I would really see a lot of result but it turned out to be a very good lengthening mascara. It also doesn't clumb.
I like to apply three coats of mascara because I think that looks best.

Have a good evening!

November Favourites!

Hello everyone! We've been December for a while so I wanted to do a post on my favourites of November. In November I tried out a lot of things, I emptied a lot of products and I loved a lot of products! I'm going to show them now.

The first thing is my Mega volume black smoke mascara by L'oréal. This came in my October Deauty box and made me so happy! I was running out of other mascara and I actually wanted to try one by L'oréal so it was the perfect timing! Lovely product! I really enjoy using it!
This mascara is extreme black and seperates my lashes perfectly. It also makes my lashes very long!

Another product that came in my October Deauty box! The Kiehl's lipbalm. I think that I'm going to empty it soon if I keep on using it as much as I do now. I really can't help it, it's an amazing product! So moisturizing, not sticky, just perfect!

Two palettes by Essence that I've been wearing and loving! The first one (above) is a palette with four neutral colours called "To die for" and the second palette (below) is from the Sun Club collection. It's in "02 long beach". Lovely fall colours! The pigmentation is great! They were both $3.91.
Super affordable!

This blush below, called "Apricot smoothie" was a gift from my friend, a beauty lover like me. I love how there's a red, shimmery part and a more orange toned part. I love blush because I'm pale myself, especially in winter, so this product is really one of my favourite products of these last couple of months. Also, I have a thing for cute names, and this one is so lovely! I like to use a little bit because the colours are quite bright, but if you wanted to, you could build up the intensity.

Well, well, well. You shouldn't be too surprised to see the YSL volupté sheer candy glossy balm in this post. Ever since getting it, back in September, I've been using and loving this. Expensive, but so worth the money. I love the packaging by the way! (Click here to read more about this product).

Another lipproduct! This jar filled with strawberry scented nourishing lipbalm is by Yves Rocher. I let my sister convince me to bring this home. Holy moly, that is one of the most expensive lipbalms I've ever got (basically because I normally just get the cheap drugstore ones- they work just fine). But okay, it's worth the price. Oh, and also, don't count on finishing this jar in a month, it'll take a lot longer, trust me!

Recently I had an acne break out so I was so so happy I had this allround concealer palette by Catrice to help me hide the blemishes!
This one comes with a green to conceal rednesses, a pink to conceal dark circles under your eyes and three shades of brown. You could mix the colours to get the shade of your skintone. This palette is a good buy because it costs a lot less than buying five different single concealers. Also, like all the other Catrice products, you can count on quality.

And last but not least: "Basic instinct" eyeshadow by New York Color (NYC). I use this as a highlighter and god, it is such a lovely colour!

October Favies! ♥

Hello everyone, happy Tuesday!
I know I'm a little late with this post but today I wanted to write about the products I loved and used a lot in October.

This first product is a mascara. I'm very picky when it comes to mascara's because I hate spending money on one when you can't even notice it. This is the L'oréal Mega Smoky Black (Volume 24h) mascara. It came in my October Deauty box. I was pretty excited to try it out because a lot of my favourite mascaras are often by L'oréal or Maybelline. So I was kind of expecting this to be a good product and it didn't let me down for sure. I have days that I only wear mascara and I get compliments on how long my lashes look.

Another product from the October Deauty box! I had never tried this lipbalm by Kiehl's before, in fact, I had never even used a lipbalm in a tube. But I decided to try it out because I was pretty curious, and also since it's getting cold, I could use some lipbalm every once in a while. Let's just say that I don't want to apply it because I'm afraid it's going to get empty. This lipbalm is very smooth and moisturizing. Also, I personally like how it looks on my lips, it's like I'm wearing a clear lipgloss.

This YSL Volupté Sheer Candy Gloss Balm was my first high end beauty product I ever purchased. I got it somewhere in September, I believe (or maybe it was at the end of August). First of all, I love how the lipstick looks. I already feel pretty when I look at it! Also, this glossy balm is very moisturizing, it's great to wear on a daily basis and you could build up the intensity of the colour (so if you don't like really bright lipstick or lipglosses, you could just put on one or two layers). Lovely!

Aaah, this blush by Catrice! I can't say anything negative about it! I love it so, so much! I did a post on it yesterday, so click here if you want to read it! (It's a lot more detailed)

This strawberry scented lipbalm by Yves Rocher is absolutely amazing! I love the smell, I love the colour, I love the product! Let me warn you, I didn't think I'd ever spend a lot of money on a lipbalm and after getting this I was regretting it already, but when I started using this I really fell in love with it after all.
(Oh and I don't mean it was like $50, I just mean that compared to my other lipbalms, this was probably the most expensive.) I also have a new raspberry scented lipbalm, again by Yves Rocher. I haven't opened that one. It looks a lot more pink than this one, almost like a Barbie pink!

In this picture, you see two lipsticks by Catrice. Actually the one on the left is my favourite one for the moment. I've been using it for a really long time now, it's a hot pink/ red lipstick that I absolutely love! It's called "Pink me up". Maybe not for everyone, because I'm pretty much the only one wearing hot pink and red lipstick to school, but oh well.
It would also look great if you were putting it on before going out!

My favourite fall palette! The Essence sun club palette called "02 Long Beach". This is the palette with more neutral colours, there's also another one that holds a lot of bright and shimmery colours. I recently wrote a post on this palette.

Another Essence palette! I think it's pretty obvious that I like Essence for their eyeshadows! This quattro was probably one of the most used palettes in October. I might have used it more than the Sun Club palette!
I love this palette because it holds four neutral colours that look good on every skintone, so no matter if you are pale or a little darker, these colours will probably look great on you! The pigmentation is good, it's easy to apply and as always, it is cheap. This palette is called "To Die For". It's one of my favourite neutral makeup palettes ever.

Let me know what you liked last month!
