Golden Goddess highlighter review!

Highlighters have been a very big thing the last (few) year(s). Every brand seems to have one, it's really all you hear about on blogs and YouTube channels, and I can't really blame anyone.
When I was a kid, I used to watch "Charmed" on TV and I would wonder what made the girls in the show glow like that. What made them look so fresh and healthy?
As I started learning more about make-up, I was told about this thing called "highlighter"... "Oh," I thought, "so that's where the glow comes from?".

It's no secret that I'm a big higlighter lover too! About a month ago, in Madrid, I found this cute highlighter by Revolution.
It's a triple baked highlighter in a heart shape, called "Goddess of Love". A gorgeous absolutely stunning gold highlighter that's affordable too! But is it good enough to steal my heart?

The packaging is way too cute. Heart shapes are meant to win girls over rightaway. No, really, this packaging is quite cute. It might not be great for storage or travelling, but it'll take your bad mood away in the morning!
Below, you can see what the swatch looks on my hand.

I personally loved this swatch. A higlighter has be pigmented for sure, but too pigmented can look a bit stupid as well, after all, you don't want to look like a discoball.

I love the glow this highlighter gives me, without being too much or too over the top. It is exactly what it needs to be; noticable, but not ridiculous, if that makes sense.
You can see the highlighter when I turn my head, when the sun decides to show itself or when a light shines on my face. I've tried my very best to capture the gorgeousness on camera and believe I have succeeded as well.

Below you'll find a picture of what my highlighter looks like in artificial light. Pretty nice, huh?

I'm in love. Pun intended.
There are two more options available, but this one was the best one for my complexion. I'm very happy to have gotten one of these highlighters.

Are there any highlighters you'd like to recommend? Please do let me know in the comments below.
Thanks for reading and as always, I hope to see you soon!

Sleek highlighter palette review!

Sleek came to Belgium a few months ago - or maybe a year ago already, I don't know exactly - and immediately I started testing a few products. So far, I've tried an eyeshadow palette and an eyebrow palette, which I'm still crazy about. Back when I was on my trip to Rome, a friend showed me her highlighter palette by Sleek (which I used everyday on that trip) and which I was absolutely crazy about.

When I came back to Belgium, I looked for this palette every week but most of the time, the "Sleek" counter was nearly completely empty. In Madrid, however, I did find the very last highlighter palette. This time, I didn't walk away empty handed. Here's my review on this gorgeous palette, keep reading!

Let's talk packaging.
This Sleek palette is completely gold, it's absolutely gorgeous. It looks very chique and sophisticated. When you open this palette, you get to see the four stunning highlighters inside. One creamy highlighter, three powder highlighters. The palette also comes with a tiny brush.

The creamy highlighter is in the left upper corner. Next to it is a purple highlighter. Below, you can find a white highlighter and a gold highlighter.
Here are some swatches with and without flash. All of the highlighters have very good pigment and a nice texture. There are no crumbs or anything whatsoever, and the tiniest bit goes a long way. The creamy highlighter is very smooth and easy to apply.

I was impressed with the palette when my friend first showed it to me and I'm beyond excited to finally have it in my possession.

Comparing: MAC vs Catrice highlighters

I love comparing products to each other.
Preferably cheaper and more expensive products. I did one in the past comparing MAC Russian Red lipstick and Rimmel London's lipstick to each other.
Time to compare another MAC product to one of my newest favourites: a highlighter from Catrice!

Here are the two highlighters next to each other. On the right, you see the very famous MAC highlighter called "Soft and Gentle" (that I accidentally dropped and broke, cry!) . On the left, my newest Catrice higlighter in "Light Infusion".

Both highlighters look rather simple in their packaging. Catrice has silver packaging, MAC has black packaging. Both fine.
The MAC highlighter is a little more gold, whereas the Catrice highlighter is a bit cooler.

And swatches!
The highlighters are not exactly thesame, (Soft and Gentle is warmer) but quality wise,  I must say I'm very impressed with Catrice!

If you want a really good budget highlighter, get your hands on this Catrice highlighter as fast as you can!

Catrice high glow highlighter ♥

Goodmorning to the whole wide world out there! How are you?
I have been in quite a good mood recently. I have been working for school a lot, but I have also reaping the rewards!

I thought I deserved a little treat from myself too and went shopping. Mostly window shopping, but when I got to my drugstore, I decided to take a look inside and here's what I found: A Catrice highlighter! This is the High Glow mineral highlighting power (phew, what a long name!).

This higlighter called "Light Infusion" is a Limited Edition highlighter and I nearly died when I saw it!
It looks so beautiful! Normally I'd say that the packaging is quite minimalistic and that it's not really my style, but in this case I think it's very handy. That way you can really see the product, and that's what chatches your eye (or at least, what caught mine! ;) ).

When I swatched it, my jaw dropped. Honest to God.
Such a pretty highlighter! And the pigmentation!

As you can see, this higlighter is well pigmented, but it also has a nice structure. There are no chunks of glitter in it, which I'm extremely grateful for. I have bad skin as it is and chunks would only make it look worse.

I'm so happy to have found a budgetproof highlighter that meets my expectations when it comes to textures and everything.
I would for sure recommend it if you're looking for a cheap highlighter.

A sneak peek inside my beauty closet: highlighters

Hi guys! Ready for another sneak peek inside my beauty closet?
Today I'm going to be showing you my highlighters. I don't have very many highlighters, I only have three.

The first one that I got was from a limited edition by Essence called "Fantasia", it was super pretty but it shattered unfortunately...

The second one that I got is from Essence as well but it's a warmer highlighter. This one is from a limited edition as well, called "Ticket to paradise".

I just realised that all my highlighters are from limited editions, hah! So is this last one, my mineralize skinfinish by MAC, it's called "Adored" and it's a pink/peachy highlighter. I use this one most often these days.

MAC mineralize skinfinish in "Adored"

Hi everyone! I'm am so excited to tell you about my first mineralize skinfinish from MAC! I wanted to try "Soft and Gentle", but it was sold out. Both in the Limited Edition line ànd in the permanent line. It must be really good then! "Lust" was very beautiful too but a little too pink. Then this baby catched my eye! Something neutral, yet not too subtile ( as in "so subtile you can't see it) and cute. This is "adored"!

Even though this is from a limited edition, it has a basic, simple packaging. Not that I'm complaining, I love MAC's packaging. I think it looks simple but classy.

As you can see the skinfinish is quite peachy with a bit of pink and some shimmer. It's beautiful! The picture below is a picture of how it looks in natural daylight and the picture below that one is how it looks with flash.

I got really excited when I was in the store and the makeup artist proposed to use it on my face so I could see what it would be like. Of course I said yes! From that moment I knew this baby was my new best friend. I took it home and we've been happy ever since. The picture below shows you the subtile glow that "Adored" gives me. I adore it (see what I did there?) !

Essence "Tropical Heat" shimmer powder review

Hello you guys! A little while ago I went beauty shopping. Surprisingly I only brought home four items. This was one of the items.
It's a shimmer powder/highlighter by Essence, called "Tropical Heat", and it's from the "Ticket to Paradise" collection.

The packaging is quite simple, as always. I do like the design of the shimmer powder, it does remind me of a tropical place, a Paradise, I think they did a very good job on that! You can recognize a couple of flowers and leaves from palm trees (at least that's what they look like to me). Wauw! I get so happy when I look at it (confessions of a beauty addict, haha!).

The shimmer powder is gold, which I think is very pretty. I prefer to wear warm colours like this, instead of cold colours like pink. I just think highlighter in summer is so much prettier if it has an orange/gold undertone to it.

This is what the shimmer powder looks like on my face. It wasn't as hard to photograph as I thought. As you can see, it's very subtile, yet pigmented very nicely.

I am very happy with this shimmer powder, I think it looks absolutely gorgeous and I've been using it every single day since I got it! So happy I could get my hands on this baby in time! I wish this wouldn't be a limited edition product, I feel like I would buy this every year, over and over again!

Essence Fantasia Highlighter Review

Hello everyone!
Today I wanted to talk about a new highlighter that I recently got. It's from the "Fantasia" collection by Essence and I've been loving it. I've only used it for a week or maybe a little bit more, but I loved it so much, I just couldn't wait to write a review!

I got this highlighter a little while ago and I immediately started using it. I really love how it looks. The butterfly in the middle is adorable!

As you can see, the colour of the butterfly (or wait, it's a butterfly, right?) and the colour of everything that's surrounding the butterfly is different. I like to mix those two colours so that I have a bit of each. The pigmentation is very good.

This is how it looks on my skin. It doesn't make you look like a disco ball, which is nice. It does stay on a long time, like when I put it on in the morning I can still see a bit of it in the evening but not as much as in the morning. Obviously I've been touching my face and such... I apply it in a line above my blush, a little bit under my eyes, more to the cheekbones. It gives a really nice shimmer and when the (sun)light hits you there, you can see the glitter and it's just totally adorable!
I really love how it looks. It was only $3.94, which is about €2.99, which I think is very affordable. And also, have you seen how big this highlighter is?! I'd really recommend it to all you beauty lovers out there, like I said, I like it and I enjoy using it!

Shopping Haul

Hi everyone!  Today I'm going to show you what I got when I went shopping yesterday. I know it's a little bit later than expected but the internet is so slow at the moment! Sorry!

I almost got Steve Madden shoes yesterday. After shopping for a few hours I had a lot of money left. I asked the girl in the store if they had the shoes that I liked in my size and she replied that there were almost no shoes left in my size! It made me a little bit sad because I really loved the shoes they had in the store. Next time better?
Anyways I did get quite a few beauty items and I'm going to show them today. There are both budget proof items and a high end item! Here we go!

The first palette I got is "Twinkle in the eye" by Catrice. I thought it looked cute and I didn't have any palette with colours that looked like this.

Swatches! Looks pretty good, huh?

This lipstick is called "Violet Crush". It's a matte lipstick.

Oh how glad I am I finally got myself a lipstick from Estée Lauder! I hear such good things about it all the time. This lipstick is pink/purple. It's a very special colour. I really love it. In the picture it'll look a bit more pink than it is in real life. Normally I like red lipsticks more but this one is really great as well!

This "stay all day" eyeshadow by Essence is called "Coppy right". I think it looks great! You can build up the colour and I just love it! The colour is a bit between green and brown.

I got two body butters! Oh god I really love these! They smell very very nice!

Another Essence item! A little while back I got an eyeshadow from the Fantasia collection and now I got a highlighter. The main reason I didn't get it last time is because it was sold out, haha! I heard great things about this and I'm very excited to try it. Doesn't look to bad, now does it? I really love the design.

Nothing really special, this last item. I got an eyebrow pencil by Catrice!
I also got some non-beauty items. I got 5 of the Harry Potter books (like I said, I really wanted them!). It was the perfect day to celebrate the ending of my exams.
Reviews and more pictures are coming up soon!

How was your day?
