A sneak peek inside my beauty closet: eyeshadow palettes

Hello everyone! We're continuing the "sneak peek inside my beauty closet" series with the next subject: palettes! I love palettes just because they have a lot of colours and there are multiple looks you can make with one palette.
Palettes are my thing, I love them. It's quite obvious that I have a huge palette collection. Want to take a look?

The first brand that I have quite a few palettes of is Catrice. They have a bunch of amazing palettes that have good pigmentation and are budgetproof! I keep collecting!

Catrice "Twinkle in the eye" palette review (discontinued)

Next I have my palettes by H&M. I can't really say if I'm disappointed by H&M or if I like it, simply because some colours look better than others. I think the quality could/should get a little better.

This palette is a palette that I got at Paris in New Look. It's from a collection that Kelly Brook did with them. Sadly, this palette is a huge disappointement! The black isn't really even black, the shimmery colour payoff sucks, I mean...

I also tried out a couple of NYC palettes. I have a palette with darker colours that also holds a highlighter and an eyeshadow base, I love that! The colour pay off is nice. So is the colour pay off of the other palette, which is a more neutral one.

Onto my more expensive palettes, of which I only own two! The first one is my Nude 'Tude palette by The Balm (you guys have heard about this palette many many times before) and a MAC palette that is only half filled. The colours I put in that palette are "Honey Lust" (gold) and "Bronze" (brown).

I have three "bigger" palettes with quite a few colours. The first one is by Body Collection, which was a really cheap purchase but the quality is rather good. Next I have my two huge palettes by ELF. They're the 144 bright eyeshadow palette and the 144 neutral eyeshadow palette. I also have one by Claire's.

Another disappointment, unfortunately, is this palette by Covergirl. The pigmentation looks okay when you swatch on your hands or your wrists but I have a very hard time getting any colour on my eye. It just doesn't work.

Next I have a couple of Essence palettes. The quality and price is very similar to Catrice.
I especially love the Essence quattro palettes, they hold the most beautiful colours!

Those are my beloved palettes! I do have some other ones that I'm going to collect and give to charity because I don't use them. Thanks for reading!
Have a lovely day!

A sneak peek inside my beauty closet: Foundations

Hello! I'm back with my "Sneak Peek inside my beauty closet" series! Today I want to show you all my foundations. Aside from foundations, I also have BB creams and tinted moisturizers. I'm going to show you what they look like and by what brand they are as well today.
I did photograph the foundations alone and photographed the other products alone, that way it's easier to place into it's category!
Ready?
Let's go!

The first thing I have is foundations. Before, I used True Match and Fit me but now I'm out of it, I mostly use my Catrice photo finish foundation - budget, but I find that it works really well on me. The other two foundations that I have are both by Gosh and they were both on clearance. They are my summer colours. One of them is called "Nude", it's what I use in summer and the other one is called "Golden" which I never really use because it's too yellow for me - but I keep it because I might need it for a makeup job or something. Too bad you couldn't test the colours in the store. Oh well.

Next I have an Olaz essentials foundation, Catrice BB cream and Biocure coloured daycream. The Olaz foundation was a big, fat disappointment - I tried it out earlier and it looks good in the beginning but after a couple of hours, you just get dark spots of foundation all over your face. I had to learn that the hard way at school.

The Catrice BB cream is probably the best budget BB cream you can find! I love it! It is a bit shiny so you do have to use a fixing powder but it lasts so long, stays on during the swimming, it's perfect!

The tinted daycream gives really great coverage and is really cheap, the colours are just messy. Here I have the colour "Sand", which is the lightest colour and it is still way too tan for me. It's just too much, unfortunately, and dark foundation always leaves stains on my skin. Not so flawless!

Hope you enjoyed this post! Thank you for reading again and I will see you soon!

Show & Tell : Makeup palette collection and recommendations

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday!
Today is going to be a pretty long post since I'm going to be showing you my makeup palette collection and I'm also going to tell you which palettes I like most and which ones I would recommend. It's possible that you have seen some posts or reviews on certain palettes already!
I'm not going to show you every single one, I'm just going to show you the brands that made me buy 'a lot' of their palettes.

So here's a picture of all the products in my stash. I do have a couple of other palettes as well but I couldn't find them. Most of the palettes I have are drugstore so they are cheap. I don't really care about the brand or the price, as long as it works good, it's okay for me. Also, budgetproof products are great because you get to build your stash. With thesame money, you get a lot more Essence products than you get MAC products.

So I own quite a few palettes by "MAX", it's all cruelty free and very cheap. It's sold in Dutch and Belgian shops called "Action", where you can get anything really, and all for a small price. I often get makeup from there because it comes in handy when carnival is around the corner! I also get fake lashes from there, that way I don't have to spend a lot of money on something I'm probably only going to wear a couple of hours.

One of my favourite stores to get makeup palettes from is Essence. I own quite a few Essence products (not only eyeshadow) and I have never regretted getting anything from them. Essence is a lovely brand that has a great price/quality thing going on. Catrice is nice as well, but I have more mono eyeshadows from them.

Next I have the palettes that came in my makeup kit. I have no idea what brand this is, nothing is mentioned on the labels. A pity really, because the pigmentation is amazing! I use the first palette, with the neutral colours for daily looks. Everything else is for colour pop looks or for carnival.

Last but not least I also own two palettes and a single eyeshadow by NYC. It's a bit thesame like Essence and Catrice (only a little bit more expensive, maybe?)
The price/quality is good and there is enough variation in their product range.
I'm not so crazy about the first palette but the second one is really nice! I also like the fact that there is a lluminator and an eyeshadow base!

PS: I regret the fact that all we have here is NYC, Catrice, Essence and then there are brands like Rimmel, Maybelline and L'Oréal - but I only get lipsticks from those brands (don't ask me why, I don't know myself).
You could say I have tried every brand in my drugstore by now, after a while it gets a little boring - yes, I'm sorry to say this because I love our brands, but I really wish we would have more. I'm jealous of you guys who have MUA and Wet 'n Wild in their stores.

If there are any palettes you'd like to see reviews/looks on in particular, please let me know and I will grant your wish as soon as I can!

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day!

Essence Floral Grunge mini lipgloss set review!

Hello everyone! As you all know (if you've read the post at least) I went shopping last week and I also got some mini lipglosses from the new Essence collection called "Floral Grunge". I have never tried anything like this before and I was quite excited about it!

I think the packaging looks really cute. It's a colourful pastel box and a little bit of the lipglosses are showing. The box has a magnet in it, so it's really easy to open and close, and the most important thing is that it won't go open in your purse!

The mini lipgloss set is called "Kissing me softly".

So when you open the little box, three little lipglosses appear. I think they are adorable. The first one is just a transparant, glittery one. The second one is a bit of a pale, milky colour and the last one is peach.
Great colours for spring! Nice and fresh!

In this picture I'm wearing the transparant lipgloss with the glitters in it. This is my favourite one, really basic and simple, yet nice to wear.

The next one, the really pale one made me look even more pale then I already was. This one is my least favourite, just because it really doesn't look good on me. I wish it did though.

Next is the peach colour. I do really like this one as well. Peach suits me better than pink and I just think it looks good!

The good thing about this lipgloss set is that it's not a big waste if you don't like one of the colours. Like I said, I like the second colour least but that's okay because it's just a tiny tiny lipgloss and it wasn't expensive!

In general I think this mini lipgloss set is great and I'm really glad with it!

Essence "It's popul-art" blush review!

Hi!
Earlier in my Essence beauty haul (way back in March, do you remember?) I told you about a new blush I got called "It's popul-art". It's from the Vintage District collection and it's stunning!
I have waited as long as I could to test this blush because I know the gold glitter in this blush is an overspray and it'll disappear when I touch it.

Eye candy!

So this is what the blush looks like. Gorgeous. I have never had a blush as beautiful as this. And it was really cheap which is good too!

Time to see what it looks like on my face....

This is what my face looks like without any makeup on. No foundation, no BB cream, no concealer, no moisturizer, absolutely nothing. You can see how pale I am.

And this is how my face looks after applying the blush! I think it's really beautiful actually. I look less pale and less dead. The gold overspray also gives me a glow, which I love. The blush is orange toned and for some reason orange toned looks better than pink on me.

I just wish it wasn't an overspray so that I could always have this glow. Aside from that, I'm very happy I got the blush, I think it'll still be really pretty, even if the gold is gone.
It's cute and I'll be wearing it a lot this spring. Great job Essence!

Essence Beauty Haul!

Hello you guys,
yesterday after getting my report card I decided to go shopping. I had hit pan on a boat load of stuff and even after finishing my makeup challenge I didn't get anything new, so I thought my good result was a nice excuse to get some new makeup.

There were a lot of things that I wanted but that I didn't buy, such as the smokey eye set from Catrice, the nude palette (which wasn't available uhg! I want it so badly!) and another lipstick from Kate Moss by Rimmel London, but I decided not to overreact and just get the items I wanted/needed the most.
Back in the car, I realized all the products I got were by Essence - well I have to admit, they had really nice stuff! You might have seen these items on other blogs already because I'm pretty late with these items and collections, but hey, better late than never!

So here are all the items that I got; an Essence eyebrow kit, a liquid eyeliner (really needed a new one!), a matte red lipgloss called "Silky Red", two Essence 3D eyeshadows and a blush.
The 3D eyeshadows are absolutely gorgeous, they're called "Irresitible Vanilla latte" (the eyeshadow on the left) and "Irresistible chocolates" (the eyeshadow on the right).

And then there's my last - and probably favourite item- a blush from the "Vintage District" collection. It's called "It's popul-art" and it's probably the most beautiful blush I have ever seen!
The design is really really nice but also the colours are amazing. I know the gold is just an overspray, so after using it for a couple of times the gold will be gone but still.... How could anyone ever say no to something like this?

I'm absolutely in love with my new items and I'm verry happy I got them! I will be reviewing all of these items seperately for you (other wise my post is going to be too long)!
Have you tried any of these products?

Have a nice day!

Shopping Haul

Hi everyone!  Today I'm going to show you what I got when I went shopping yesterday. I know it's a little bit later than expected but the internet is so slow at the moment! Sorry!

I almost got Steve Madden shoes yesterday. After shopping for a few hours I had a lot of money left. I asked the girl in the store if they had the shoes that I liked in my size and she replied that there were almost no shoes left in my size! It made me a little bit sad because I really loved the shoes they had in the store. Next time better?
Anyways I did get quite a few beauty items and I'm going to show them today. There are both budget proof items and a high end item! Here we go!

The first palette I got is "Twinkle in the eye" by Catrice. I thought it looked cute and I didn't have any palette with colours that looked like this.

Swatches! Looks pretty good, huh?

This lipstick is called "Violet Crush". It's a matte lipstick.

Oh how glad I am I finally got myself a lipstick from Estée Lauder! I hear such good things about it all the time. This lipstick is pink/purple. It's a very special colour. I really love it. In the picture it'll look a bit more pink than it is in real life. Normally I like red lipsticks more but this one is really great as well!

This "stay all day" eyeshadow by Essence is called "Coppy right". I think it looks great! You can build up the colour and I just love it! The colour is a bit between green and brown.

I got two body butters! Oh god I really love these! They smell very very nice!

Another Essence item! A little while back I got an eyeshadow from the Fantasia collection and now I got a highlighter. The main reason I didn't get it last time is because it was sold out, haha! I heard great things about this and I'm very excited to try it. Doesn't look to bad, now does it? I really love the design.

Nothing really special, this last item. I got an eyebrow pencil by Catrice!
I also got some non-beauty items. I got 5 of the Harry Potter books (like I said, I really wanted them!). It was the perfect day to celebrate the ending of my exams.
Reviews and more pictures are coming up soon!

How was your day?
