H&M "De Nîmes" coloured eyeliner review!

Another day, another eyeliner added to my make-up collection - or so it seems!
As you might have noticed, I've been getting into glitter and coloured eyeliners recently. I've been experimenting with eyeliner ever since I've started blogging, well over four years ago now!

My latest eyeliner buy was a bit of an impulse; I didn't need more eyeliners, but the H&M store in Bruges has been expanding, adding more make-up to their collection and the eyeliners were on sale, so I got one.

The packaging of this eyeliner is so cute! You can see the colour of the eyeliner through the tube. The letters on the eyeliner are gold, which is beautiful. Everything else is pretty basic.

The eyeliner that I got is called "De Nîmes", it's a gorgeous blue colour with a bit of glitter in it. Oh, and I also have an "eye of the day" coming up using this eyeliner, so make sure you check that out as well.

The tip of this eyeliner brush is soft and flexible. It's so easy to draw a line across your lashline.

And would you look at the colour of this eyeliner. My god, it is gorgeous - it reminds me of what the sky looks like at midnight!
The eyeliner contains a bit of sparkle. I wouldn't say glitter because there aren't any big chunks in it, it's very subtile. It's almost difficult to explain.

It has a nice texture and applies smoothly. I don't have any complaints about pigmentation either; one layer does the job just fine, this eyeliner isn't watery or anything.

To be honest with you, I never expected to find such a great eyeliner at H&M.

Finding this eyeliner was a coincidence (I wouldn't have seen it if it didn't have a huge red sticker or if it wasn't placed near the check out- very smart marketing by the way) but I'm glad I did notice it.
If you feel like trying something different, I'd recommend giving this eyeliner a shot.

I'm will be going back to see if they have any other exciting colours!
I paid €3 for this eyeliner.

Wake up, spring!

Every spring, pastel colours come back. I'm not a fan of a wide range of pastel colours, there are only two pastel colours I like: mintgreen and pastel purple.
Just a few days ago, I was in the city center window shopping, but I ended up buying a few things too! One of those things was a mintgreen eyeliner that I came across.
I've never had bright coloured eyeliner but it's trending so I wanted to give it a shot.

The packaging of this product is so adorable. It looks like a mintgreen pen. The pen says "Wake up, spring!" in curly letters. This is the title of this collection. Ah, it makes me feel so happy inside!

The felt tip was something that made me doubt a little. Up until now, I've haven't had a good felt tip  experience when it comes to eyeliners. However, the swatch looks decent.

The look that I was going for was quite simple; a normal, black line and above it, the mintgreen line. I decided to do the mintgreen line before adding the black, because it would be easier.

Even though the colour payoff was okay on my wrist, it didn't show up that well on my eyes. I had to go over it a couple of times, but then the product didn't look like it was distributed evenly. The middle was less intense than the outer parts, if that makes sense.

I wish the colour would show up more on my skin. I feel like you have to go over it a bunch of times and still, you barely see any result.
I get that this is a pastel eyeliner, but still, it did disappoint me a little.

The next day I re-applied this eyeliner with the difference that I put the pen vertically in a cup with my other pens all night overnight, I thought maybe the product would come down more and it would be easier to use the felt tip. No luck.

I absolutely love the idea of pastel eyeliners, but so far I'm still not satisfied with the eyeliner Essence came up with.
I will be trying some other brands soon!

Thanks for reading, have a nice day!

I ♥ make-up palette review!

Hello everyone! How are you?
I just got back from a school trip where I got to spend the week with my high school students (which is pretty rare for an intern, but it was so much fun!).
Ever since arriving home I've been spending my days trying to enjoy and spending my nights working on lesson preparations.

It hasn't been all work and no play, I have allowed myself a couple of things this spring break and well... One of them was to "treat myself". So I did. I treated myself to a new palette by "I ♥ make-up", which is a brand that I've never tried, but I was pretty curious!

The packaging is quite simple, but I think it looks nice. Hot pink letters are always a good idea!

This is what the inside of the palette looks like. So many different shades! This palette holds 32 colours. Some of them shimmery, some of them matt! In this palette you'll also find two small applicator brushes and a giant mirror.

Here are the swatches. Both dark and lighter colours actually have a good colour pay off. I wish they would have been a bit more pigmented, but obviously, I've seen worse so I'm not upset. I've also noticed there's little to no fall out.

Time for an eye look! I've kept it quite neutral today. I've also used cool toned eyeshadows instead of the regular gold today. I'm not used to it yet, but it's quite nice. Change is good!

What do you think of this look?

Catrice Sun Glow bronzer review!

Fall is in town and I'm desperately trying to keep my tan. After running out of bronzer this summer, I decided to try this new one by Catrice. Catrice is a brand that doesn't disappoint me very often, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I got both "020 deep bronze" and "030 medium bronze". I actually thought "medium bronze" would be the lightest colour, but that's not the case. It's the other way around.

Let's start with packaging. The bronzer looks pretty simple, it's packed in shiny grey plastic, exept the top is see through.

I'm quite happy with this bronzer. The pigment is good and "020 deep bronze" is a good match for my skin. When I contour, it still look natural instead of orange and fake. I like!
I used "020 deep bronze" in the pictures below. I'm pretty satisfied with the way it looks on my skin.

What do you think? Do you use some kind of bronzer, if so, which one?
Have a nice day! Until next time!

Essence mosaic compact powder review

When I was younger, I limited myself to eye make-up most of the time. I never really thought about the rest of the face, except for blush maybe.
Since then, I've learned that the face is also important. I started with concealing and right now I bronze, highlight, contour, the whole lot.

I have used my bronzer quite a lot recently, which led to serious pan at first, and empty packaging later. I went out looking for a new one and found something that I thought looked decent. This is the Essence mosaic compact powder.

The packaging of this product is rather normal and average, but I love how they made it 3D. Some parts are "sticking up" a little more. The way a product looks doesn't define the quality, but it sure is nice to have a product that looks special.

This bronzing powder is made of darker and lighter parts. I just mix all the shades together.

This mosaic compact powder is just the right colour for my skin. I was afraid it'd be too light but it's good. The powder is very nice to work with, it crumbles a little bit but not to the point where it's disturbing. As with all Essence products, it's affordable! I use this powder for bronzing and contouring.

This is what the powder looks like on my face. As you can see I used it to contour my cheekbones and my forehead a little bit.
 I like this product!

MAC "Dark Side" lipstick review ♥

Happy Valentine's Day!
I hope you have a nice day ahead of you! It had been a long time since I treated myself, after the exams I went right to my internship and I also started working in the service industry again. Soon I will be teaching and school is back on track, so I don't think I will have a relaxed vacation any time soon.
Instead of having a break, I let myself pick out something that I've had my eye on for quite a while now (because sometimes you have to treat yourself).

I got a new lipstick by MAC! This one is called "Dark Side". I actually wanted "Diva" but they didn't have it in stock anymore.
This lipstick is the exact same colour, exept it's not matt and "Diva" is.

This is what the lipstick looks like, it's a gorgeous burgundy colour. Especially for this time of year, when the weather is still quite cold and the days are short, this lipstick is perfect.
I've said it before, I like wearing darker make-up in winter, but the eyes don't always have to be the focus!

If you are into make-up, you might have heard about MAC already - I can't say anything bad about the brand or this lipstick. It's creamy, the pigmentation is really good and it lasts long. I'm also madly in love with the colour, it's so beautiful!
I paid €19 for this lipstick, which is totally worth it! This lipstick is sold in every MAC store.

Thanks for reading!
Have a lovely Saturday!

Fall make-up look ♥

I tried something new. I'm not a big fan of change, but sometimes I try something new. That's exactly what I did with this make-up look. I decided to make it a little darker and a little more wintery/smokey than I normally would.

It might not seem that dark at all in the pictures, but just remember that my pictures are taken in front of a huge window, so it's normal for my make-up to look a little bit lighter.

As always, I used some of my favourite shades by MAC for this make-up look. "Texture", an orange toned eyeshadow that I normally never use on my eyelid but I did today. I really like the results too! It's a little darker, but hey, it's December, we're allowed to wear a little bit of dark make-up sometimes.

In my crease I used "Bronze", followed by "Espresso" and just a little bit of black eyeshadow from my MUA "Undress me too" eyeshadow palette.
As usual I did my signature eyeliner! The liquid eyeliner and the mascara I like to use are by Essence.

Do you like this look? Would you wear it?

Have a good day!

MAC "Melon" pigment review

Hello everyone!
Earlier this week I went to do some early Christmas shopping because I won't have time in December. I will be studying during the holidays this year (college, you know...).
After getting a couple of things that I liked, I couldn't help it, I went to the MAC store... and let's just say I got myself an early present.

I got a new mini pigment by MAC. I got my first pigment by MAC this summer and I like it a lot, but it's a really bright pigment so I wanted something a little more neutral...

I walked out with the colour "Melon", which is a beautiful, vibrant gold pigment.
The make-up artist that helped me pick out make-up this summer was actually crazy about this pigment and she really recommended it. I can see why now!

Magic in a jar...

This is what the pigment looks like. As always, my pictures were taken in front of a big window, so the colours look lighter than they actually are.
This is such a beautiful shade! I can't wait to create a new make-up look with this pigment!

EOTD: Fall in town ♥

Hello everyone! I'm back!
I have a new make-up look for you that I'm personally a big fan of!
I based it on a make-up look that I used to wear all the time, but this time I've made it a little more fall appropriate.

The look that I based this look on, can be found here.
I did exactly thesame to start off, but then I darkened up my crease gradually, that means I first used brown to make it darker and darker and when everything was blended out, I used some black eyeshadow.

All the eyeshadow colours that I used are by MAC (Texture, Woodwinked, Espresso). The black eyeshadow is by MUA, from their "Undress me too" palette.

Next, I applied liquid eyeliner and two colours kohl eyeliner (all the eyeliner products are by Essence).
I used Essence's black kohl liner on the outer corner of the eye and their "Charlie seen in green" from the "Hello Autumn" limited edition in my inner corner!

What do you think of this look?
Have a nice day!
