Fall inspiration!

Good afternoon to all of you! I have been in a fall mood for the past week now. It's getting dark sooner, my knee high boots are by the front door again and the Christmas Trees are popping up everywhere. I want to get you inspired with a couple of pictures!

Urban Decay Naked Heat palette review

One thing I love about travelling is exploring local markets and shops.
I also love big international shops that we don't have in Belgium. When we went to London, we strolled around Harrods for hours. When we went to Malaga, we visited El Corte Ingles.

Inside, there was a Sephora counter. I bought Rihanna's highlighter and to my surprise, my boyfriend got me the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette. He knows I tend to doubt a lot before I het a new make-up product (especially if it's a palette) and I always regret it later.

The only Urban Decay palette that I have is the original one. I use it on a daily basis. This palette is a lot brighter and a lot more "out there". This palette holds 12 orange and red toned eyeshadows, perfect for fall! Orange is trending, you know.

Before we talk about swatches and the make-up look, take a minute to admire the packaging. Holy Moly! I feel like they went all out and I wonder if they'll manage to top this packaging if a new Naked palette comes out. So absolutely gorgeous! I know you shouldn't like a product for the way it looks, bit eyecatching packaging like this site helps!

Here's a picture of what the swatches look like. Each and every single colour, shimmery or matt, has a great colour payoff. The colours, even though they don't look very bright on my arm, are quite vibrant in real life.

This look is the very first look that I made with this palette, to test the colours.
I decided not to go for a big winged eyeliner because I felt like that would take away some of the effect of these bright eyeshadows.
Instead, I went for a simple, small line on my lower lashline and some black eyeliner on my waterline. I did decided to apply eyeliner on my waterline because the eyeshadows still gravitate towards red shades and they can make you look quite sick if you don't apply them right - that's why I like to neutralize the "redness" from my lower lashline with some black eyeliner.

I have to admit that this palette is in my top 3 of new palettes that I got. I think it might even be nr 1 and the runner up would be my Morphe 350 palette.

I have been thinking about filming more recently and this palette will be included in one of the first videos! Love the colours, the pigmentation and the texture.

My second palette, the second time that I'm blown away by Urban Decay.

Thanks so much for checking in!
Have a good one!

MAC Burgundy Times Nine palette review

Good morning everyone and welcome to one of these reviews that I have been most excited about this whole week.

Today I'm reviewing a pre-made MAC eyeshadow palette for you, called "Nine times Burgundy".
You probably guessed it, this palette is a palette that holds nine burgundy shades. This is the first time that I have seen the pre-made palettes and needless to say, I wanted one!

A palette like this is really great because the eyeshadows are smaller than regular ones. So you get a small palette with small eyeshadows, which to me would ben great if you're just starting out and you'd like to try MAC but you don't want to spend half of your paycheck.

I didn't realise I already owned a lot of eyeshadows in this palette. Popular shades like Honey Lust, Star Violet, Sketch, Antiqued are a part of this palette. There are a few mattes and a couple of shimmery shades, I really like this combination. The balance between light and dark shades is quite good too!

I don't like to admit it, but I had higher hopes for this palette. Alright, I've only used it a couple of times up until now and maybe I'll fall in love with it later, but right now I'm not impressed.

The look that I made was difficult to blend out and the fall out was immense. I understand with darker colours comes more fall out, but I feel like every colour in the palette left a stain. Maybe it was the combination that I chose.
Blending all these eyeshadows together was a bit difficult too. I'm not used to that from MAC.

Below you can see some more close-up looks. I'm not completely satisfied with how this turned out. But I'm willing to give this palette another shot and I'll let you know if my opinion changes.

EOTD: Mermaid in disguise

Good morning everyone!
I'm feeling a little bit mermaid-y today. The last few good summer days are coming up so I'm taking my chances and going for bright eyes each and everyday!

Today, I'm combining a neutral look (created with my MAC Nine Times Burgundy palette, which I have a review coming up on soon) - with my glam eyeliner by NYX.

I created a cut crease, something that I don't do often but I like it because everytime you look down it's an extra pop of colour, something you wouldn't expect, which I like.
This eyeliner is green but looks like a teal eyeliner in these particular pictures. I like!

What do you think of this eyelook?

Everyday Fall make-up look 2017

Fall is coming and even though I'm not one to like the rain or the winds, I am really excited about the make-up and the fashion that comes along with the fall months.
In summer, dressing up is easy. Pretty much anything will do: floral, dresses skirts, any type of shorts...
In fall and winter, I feel like you have to try a little harder, but you really get the chance to take it away and express yourself completely.

It's also a make-up thing. In fall and winter, I feel you're more challenged to go darker and to try new things. I, for one, wouldn't wear a brown or purple lip in summer. In fall or winter, I would.

My current make-up look for fall 2017 consists of mainly orange and copper tones. This eye make-up is created mainly with my Morphe 350 palette, which is a beautiful, fall appropriate palette. It has sold out a couple of times and I really can't say that I'm surprised. Who wouldn't want a beauty like this?

EOTD: Morph into Morphe!

Before I started blogging, I watched a lot of beauty videos on YouTube. The girls who made videos were limited (unlike the many millions of girls and boys on YouTube today).
Jaclyn Hill is amongst one of my favourite YouTubers and it's because of her that I got to know the make-up brand "Morphe".
First, I believe they made brushes only. Now they also make eyeshadow palettes. And how beautiful they are! I have shown you a couple palettes that I got recently and I'll be getting some more for sure!

Today's look is a look made with one of my Morphe palettes. It's called the 35F palette.
I used two shades of matte brown eyeshadow in my crease and some gold and shimmery greens on my lid.
On my lower lashline, I used a purple eyeshadow and a whole lot of black eyeliner. Nice and smokey!

I hope you enjoyed this look. Before I go, I'd like to hear back from you: are there any things that you would like to see (more) on the blog?
Would you like some tutorials? Are you interested in Halloween looks? Fall looks? Let me know!

Have a lovely day!

Travel Diary: Malaga - part 2

Goodmorning! Happy Friday!
I love looking back on my holiday and for the second time, I'd like to give you a sneak peek in my three days in Malaga. This post is mostly about the food we ate.

These first four pictures give me a great flashback to one of the nights at the restaurant. It was getting quite late so we decided to go into the hotel restaurant to have dinner. I asked for tuna tartar and I will never forget what happened next.

The waiter actually came to my table with all the ingredients and made the food exactly the way I told him I liked it. One ingredient at a time. We go out to eat very often but we have never seen anything like this. It made our whole trip.
Such a talented guy!

We visited a couple of local markets as well. Fresh fish, nuts, veggies and fruits! Yum!

Local market at the harbor. It's only there temporarely, but it's so much fun to do. Great if you're going for a walk.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day. Have a good one!

Fenty Beauty 'Throphy Wife" highlighter review!

There's nothing a woman like Rihanna can't get away with. Time and time again she steals the show. Rihanna has recently launched a beauty line and while I was in Malaga, I got my hands on one of her products (since we don't have a Sephora in Belgium)! Fenty beauty is a reference to Riri's real name: Robyn Fenty.

I got.... a highlighter of course! This one is a beautiful gold highlighter called "Trophy Wife".
The packaging is simple, but beautiful. It's shaped unlike any other highlighter in my collection.

This what you see when you open up the highlighter. A beautiful gold highlighter with the Fenty Beauty initials.
Below you can see the swatch. I was quite positively surprised. Look at that pigment! What I really like about this highlighter is that, when you apply it, it's still quite subtile.

This is what the highlighter looks like on my skin. I really like the way it looks on my skin. When the light catches the highlighter, it's just so beautiful. I do think the highlighter could be a little too dark for people with very light skin, but I think you could even use this highlighter as an eyeshadow.

I'm very happy with this Fenty Beauty highlighter. It's the only product I got from the whole collection but I'm very happy with it!
