Morphe & Jaclyn Hill eyeshadow palette review!

For years I have been following Jaclyn Hill on YouTube. I remember I was watching a different video and I saw a smokey eye tutorial so I just clicked on it. That's when I first saw Jaclyn Hill's channel. Ever since then, I've been following and supporting her.
As you can imagine, I was pretty excited (and a bit jealous to be honest) when I heard she'd drop her own palette with Morphe.

It's been quite a while since she's dropped the palette and at first it was so hard for me to get my hands on it. They always sold out so quickly or the companies that had them in stock don't deliver to Belgium.
The biggest surprise on Christmas was that my boyfriend actually managed to get his hands on it. I had gotten all these beautiful gifts from amazing brands and really didn't think it could get any better and then I opened the last package. The package with the Jaclyn Hill palette in it. I swear to God, I nearly jumped through the roof!

This palette holds a wide range of colours. 35 eyeshadows to be exact. They vary from skintone colours to blending colours, colours that pop and dark colours.
I was so excited but at thesame time I didn't want to use the palette. It was just so beautiful. A month and a half later I finally decided it was time and started experimenting with it.

The thing with Youtubers who get their own make-up line is that they will be criticized more. You expect a very good product from somebody who makes a living reviewing different brands. You expect the eyeshadows to have to best colour pay off and to blend like butter.
I too, expected a lot from this palette. Luckily, if you didn't already know, I can tell you that this is the kind of stuff that dreams are made of.

These eyeshadows are so gorgeous and there are so many shades. They are so many options. Not all the eyeshadows are equally pigmented, but most of them blew my mind.

Here are a couple of looks that I have done using this palette. As you can see the colours are absolutely gorgeous.

I'm very satisfied and think Morphe and Jaclyn Hill did a great job!

I hope you enjoyed this post! See you soon!

EOTD: Mermaid

My beauty obsession started when I was still very young. I think I must have been fourteen or fifteen when I discovered beauty channels on YouTube for the first time. I have seen a lot of videos in the meantime and supported a lot of YouTubers.

The Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette is a palette that I have wanted for a long time. I couldn't get my hands on it. Either the company didn't sell to the country I lived in, or they were out of stock.
Luckily, my boyfriend got his hands on it and it was one of my Christmas presents. "Christmas present? It's March and this is the first time you're hearing about this." - I know, I didn't want to touch it for a while because I just thought it was so beautiful (and of course then you want to keep it intact as long as possible).
The day has come though, and naturally I went for the brightest colours in the palette: teal and turquoise!

The look that I came up with incorporates the "halo" technique that has been quite popular lately. This means that the inside and outside of your eyes are a bit darker, whereas you brighten up the middle portion of your eyelid for that extra "pop".

I skipped eyeliner and decided to just put on a ton of mascara.

That's the finished look!

I'm very satisfied with the palette. The colours that I have used have left a very good impression - but I didn't expect anything less from Jaclyn Hill and Morphe.
I'll be back with more looks! I hope you enjoyed this one!

EOTD: Morph into Morphe!

Before I started blogging, I watched a lot of beauty videos on YouTube. The girls who made videos were limited (unlike the many millions of girls and boys on YouTube today).
Jaclyn Hill is amongst one of my favourite YouTubers and it's because of her that I got to know the make-up brand "Morphe".
First, I believe they made brushes only. Now they also make eyeshadow palettes. And how beautiful they are! I have shown you a couple palettes that I got recently and I'll be getting some more for sure!

Today's look is a look made with one of my Morphe palettes. It's called the 35F palette.
I used two shades of matte brown eyeshadow in my crease and some gold and shimmery greens on my lid.
On my lower lashline, I used a purple eyeshadow and a whole lot of black eyeliner. Nice and smokey!

I hope you enjoyed this look. Before I go, I'd like to hear back from you: are there any things that you would like to see (more) on the blog?
Would you like some tutorials? Are you interested in Halloween looks? Fall looks? Let me know!

Have a lovely day!

Morphe 350 palette review!

Happy Monday everyone! Last week I showed you the Morphe palette that my mom got me for my birthday.
I got another Morphe palette since then. This one is a true bestseller, it's the Morphe "350" palette. The palette holds dark colours as well as brighter colours (such as orange, tan, red and copper colours).

This is what the palette looks like. Below you can see a couple of swatches. The pigmentation and texture of these eyeshadows are rather nice. I only get a bit of fall out when using the shimmery eyeshadows, but that's rather normal.

The eyelook that I made was a very bright one. I used a lot of the tan and copper colours from the palette, and a few browns to darken this look up.
I'm very excited to also try a look with some of the darker colours in the palette. Smokey eyes, anybody?

Thanks for reading!
Have a nice Monday!

Morphe 35E palette

Goodmorning everybody.
One of the biggest - or, just the biggest - surprise for my birthday came from my mom this year. For me birthday she got me (amongst other things), a Morphe palette.
I wasn't aware that my mom knew about my Morphe obsession and I can't believe she got her hands on it.
She got me the 35E palette and with this, I'll be introducing Morphe onto my blog today. You ready?

The palette that she got me is the 35E palette. This palette is a combination of some very bright eyeshadow colours and some more neutral tones.
I swatched a couple of the eyeshadows in the palette - both light and dark ones - and I have to say that the colours didn't disappoint.
Look at how they pop! I will be doing a couple of tutorials on a couple different looks soon, so you can see how this palette is in use!

I'm very happy to have a Morphe palette (I have been a big fan for the last year). What do you think?
