Blake's pure red lipstick

Growing up, "Gossip Girl" was one of my favourite shows. Serena and Blair were absolute style icons and inspirations to me. Blake Lively, who plays Serena, is still an absolute icon to me. Can you imagine my excitement when I saw this red lipstick by L'Oréal? It's called "Blake's pure red" and it's absolutely gorgeous!
This lipstick is the lipstick that Blake supposedly wears. (Blake is not the only one who has a L'Oréal lipstick. J-Lo and a couple of other famous ladies have one!)

I love the packaging. I think it looks very classy. The black/gold packaging is amazing!

This red lipstick is so, so gorgeous! It looks similar to my other red lipsticks, but yet, it's not thesame.
I'm sure a lot of you make-up loving ladies know what I'm talking about: to some people red is red, but to me, every red lipstick is different.

This is what the swatch looks like. A timeless, sophisticated red.

The lipstick is very pigmented. It's smooth and creamy, and easy to apply. I re-apply this lipstick about two or three times a day, which isn't bad for a lipstick. It stays on quite some time.
You can see what it looks like on my lips in the picture below.

My conclusion? This lipstick is not bad at all! I think it's beautiful and I like it a lot!
It is one of my favourites for this fall!

True Match foundation review

A couple of years ago, when I was still a rookie at make-up, I bought my first foundation in Amsterdam.
It was the L'Oréal True match foundation. Back then I didn't know much about makeup, I thought every foundation had good coverage, but over the years I have tested a lot of foundations and I have learned that not all products on the market are good products.

Now, a couple of years later, the more experienced version of myself has returned to the L'Oréal counter to the True Match foundation again. I wanted to start using it again. Just because I have such good memories of it. Of course I don't want to keep my experiences from you.

I think the packaging of this foundation is cute. It's shiny with a lot of different fonts which makes it a little bit exciting. The only thing that you might perhaps have a problem is, is that the bottle is glass. I personally don't have any problems with that. Oh, and this foundation also has a pump which is so handy!

The colour that I got is called "Rose Beige". It's the second to lightest colour in the collection. I think the lightest colour would suit me a little better but when I do use a light foundation people ask me if I'm sick all the time.

Above you can see what the foundation looks like when it's just out of the bottle. It's not too cakey but it's also not too watery.
Below you can see what the foundation looks like after blending it out. The colour now looks like it suits me much more. It blends right in with my skintone and leaves no spots or dark areas. Right now

I can't show you what it does to acne because I don't have any at the moment (thank God!). Even though the coverage is quite nice, I do continue to use concealer underneath my eyes. What can I say, I have really bad, dark circles.

If you're interested, you can find this foundation in any drugstore!

EOTD: Caramel & Chocolate - Essence pigments!

Hi everyone! I've been meaning to post this look so many times but I just never got around to taking pictures of this look.
As you all know, Essence came out with pigments quite a few months ago. I got two called "Smell the caramel", which is a colour I can't really describe so I would say 'caramel' is a good description, and "Box of chocolate", which is a brown colour.. Don't you just love the names?
The colours are quite neutral, I agree, but all the other pigments that were left in my drugstore were orange or pink ones, and I'm not really a big fan of hot pink eyeshadow on regular days, I think it's just a bit too much.
Oh and I'm sorry for updating this late, my Internet is working against me today.

Okay so here are the products that I've used: my liquid eyeliner from a local drugstore (on the left), my highlighter from NYC in "Basic Instinct" (on top), two jars of Essence pigments - the one on the left is "Smell the caramel" and the right one is "Box of chocolate" - and below, the mascara I used, it's the Mega volume black smoke mascara from L'Oréal.

Swatches! No natural daylight so that's why it looks a bit ... Erm, crappy? Anyways, the left finger is "Box of chocolate", next "Smell the caramel" and last my highlighter.

So this is how it looks... At first I was doubting a bit about how wearable it would be but it turned out to be a fun colour. You can build up the intensity if you want; start light and make it darker if you want to. I ended up liking it a lot, I would just advice to be careful with applying - especially with the darkest colour.

And that's how it looks! Let me know what you think!

Top 5 drugstore products !

Hello everyone! Today I'm doing a post about my top 5 favies when it comes to drugstore products.
I have quite a few products but if I really have to choose, I would probably pick these products.

First product is my "xoxo" palette by Essence. It's a palette with purple colours, but it doesn't look to overwelming, you could even say that it looks neutral if you're looking from a distance. The pigmentation is great and this palette is cheap. Love!

Even though I have run out of my L'Oréal True Match foundation, I do really think it's a great foundation. I've used it about 1 year and a half and I think it's totally worth the money.

This NYX lipstick in Eucalyptus was one of the first bright colours I ever got myself. It's a bright coral colour that looks lovely on your lips. Not hot pink, but not red either.

Another palette that I really like is the Essence Sun Club palette in "Long Beach". The pigmentation is a very little, tiny bit less good than the first palette I showed you in this post, but it's still quite good. These colours are also great to use in winter and summer, because the eight colours in this palette are good to combine with each other: there are bright and darker colours.

Favourite drugstore lipstick. Ever. I'm not kidding you guys, I've been wearing this for days and days and days and I'm still loving it! The pigmentation is outstanding and this colour red is the most perfect red you'll ever find! This is from the Rimmel London by Kate Moss collection, it's called "Kiss Of Life"

Let me know what your 5 drugstore favies are!
Have a good evening!

The ten products makeup challenge!

Hi everyone! In my post about "2013 goals" I told you I wanted to stop buying a lot of makeup and just use what I had.
That's why I'm going to do the 10 products makeup challenge. The 10 products makeup challenge is quite a known challenge, because a lot of beauty addicted people try it.
Basically you just try to empty 10 products before you buy anything else.

The first product is the L'oréal Youth Code Luminizer. I got it in one of my Deauty boxes and I use this on a daily basis.

Now call me crazy but I'm going to count each of the eyeshadows as one. So I have four items here. The reason why I choose to do this is because I only have a few single eyeshadows, but they're all quite bright or not school or work appropriate. So that's why I decided to go for a neutral palette.

This blush by Catrice, called "Apricot Smoothie" is one that I got from my best friend. Again, this is a product that I use on a daily basis and I love it very much, so it just had to be in the challenge.

Another product that I've been using for quite a while, and I still use it on a daily basis: the L'oréal True Match Foundation. I have the colour "Rose Beige".

Again, another daily used product, my L'oréal Black Smoke Volume mascara. I got this in a Deauty box as well.

The next thing that I'm going to empty before getting anything else is my gel eyeliner! I use the Essence "Midnight in Paris" gel eyeliner.
And another Deauty box product.... This is Kiehl's lipbalm. Love it! I loved it too much to use it at first, but why not use it when you need it? I mean, I could always get another one!
I'm very curious if I'll be able to hold on and actually finish this challenge. I think I'll be very proud if I do and I might go shopping after the last drop of my last product!
Wish me luck!
