2B glitter eyeliner review

Last December I had a day off from work and I was looking up Christmas and New Year's Eve make-up tutorials online.
It was so warm outside, the sun was shining and I just didn't feel in the Christmas spirit because of that. However, I thought that make-up looks could probably turn my mood around.

I did indeed find a few amazing make-up tutorials (those YouTubers really are the best!), and most of them included glitter eyeliner. My next problem occured! Even though I'm a huge make-up and beauty fan, I don't have any glitter liner!

I went out to the drugstore and looked for glitter eyeliner, but I couldn't find ANYTHING. Just when I was about to give up, my eye caught the make-up section of 2B. Yes, they did have glitter eyeliner! They had gold, dark blue, black/silver, and I believe purple too. Even though I was looking for gold, I also bought the blue glittery eyeliner.

Here are two swatches!
I think the gold is maybe a little bit too yellow, but it's not that big of a deal.

I love how this eyeliner looks and of course I wore it on New Year's Eve! I do have two remarks about this eyeliner. You have to put quite some time into getting this glitter eyeliner to show up very well on your eyelids. It takes a couple of different strokes to get it on there.
The second thing that bothers me a little is that this eyeliner burns a little when you first apply it.
Aside from those two things, I have no complaints.

Below is a very basic look using three eyeliners: my regular black one, and my two glittery ones.

My new home ♥

Hi everyone! How are you going?
The holiday season is over and I'm going back to school! Well... I'm making exams! I briefly mentioned in one of my previous posts that I was going to move out. I have outgrown my old studio and I decided to go live in a bigger apartment, with my sister. I moved out right after New Year's Eve, and started 2016 in a completely different home.

In one of my previous posts I promised that I had a sneek peek coming up and well... here it is!
I won't be showing you everything, because obviously I don't live in here alone and we still want some privacy, but there are some parts of my new place that I'd like to share with you!

I hope you enjoyed these pictures! I can't wait to start a new chapter!
I hope you're having a lovely day! Be good to each other!

Essence ♥ Merry Berry ♥

Recently, Essence came out with a limited edition called "Merry berry". This was a Christmas collection. Due to work, I didn't have a chance to check it out and when I saw these nailpolishes appear on other blogs, I was sad that I missed these amazing nailpolishes.

A few days ago, when I went to go get some new shampoo, I found a couple of nailpolishes from the collection! Here they are!

The packaging of these products are so, so adorable. The name of the collection is written in curly cursive, gold letters on the bottle. The applicator is a big, gold "knob". Very cute and special!

I got two purple colours called "a masked ball" (dark purple) and "purple with purpose" (lighter purple). These were actually the only two colours they had left, but they are very fall/winter appropriate, so that makes me very happy.

It's very nice to see beautiful packaging, but if the product itself is not nice, that's kind of a waste of money. Essence nailpolishes are normally very nice quality, so I had high expectations for these two purple babies.
I tried "purple with purpose" first. This is the lighter purple colour. Here's what it looks like on my nails!

I was actually very happy when I saw how good this nailpolish looked! I applied two layers because I wanted great colour payoff, but it pretty much covered perfectly with the first layer! Just for fun, I added a little bit of glitter on the nail of my ring finger.
After all, I'm still feeling a little Christmas-y.

What do you think? I'm very impressed and I hope Essence comes out with colours like these in their permanent collection!

Thanks for reading! Have a good day!

EOTD: A dark trip

A new year, time to try out some new things! Back in the day, when I was still a make-up rookie, I didn't like to use many products or dark products. Experimenting was not my thing at all and playing safe was more my cup of tea.

Recently I've been trying a lot of new things; different brands, different techniques, different colours, different styles,... Today's looks is a rather dark look. I didn't know where I was going with this look when I picked up my palette by "The Balm", and I just used the colours that caught my eye.

The look turned out a little darker than I expected, which is okay. I do love the colours that I used though. A little cranberry, taupe, dark brown. I didn't do a lot on Christmas, but if I had plans to go out, I would have probably worn this!

Products used:
- Balm Voyage palette by The Balm
- Essence liquid eyeliner
- Essence mascara
- MUA eyebrow set

What do you think?

2015: A look back!

The new year has started and even though I try not to live in the past, I think looking back on life is necessary and sometimes it can even be pleasant.
Have you looked back on your year? Have you fulfilled your wishes and dreams of last year? Have you changed for the better? Are you one step closer to what you want in life?
2015 was a year full of change and chances for me as well. I'd like to take you on a trip down memory lane with me!

The first half of 2015 started with a new relationship for me. It didn't last though, which is okay. Hearts get broken and I spent the following months working on myself, which is something that I try to do a lot and it can only make me a better person.
Not only did I change mentally, I also changed physically. I got my nose pierced, for starters, but I also got inked. Twice.
One of the tattoos was in honour of my dad, and one was to encourage myself. I don't plan on getting more though!

As you know, I'm a big fan of changing appearance so I changed my blonde hair to an ombre do. After that, I cut off the last few blond pieces and got a bob.
Later, I cut it even shorter and also dyed it red. It still is dark red today.

One of the things that I'm probably most proud of is the fact that I learned how to speak sign language this year. I met a lot of deaf people and they have - very patiently - taught me how I can communicate with them through gestures. I've always wanted to know how to do that but honestly I just never did it. Until now. I'm still not an expert, but I can understand them and they can understand me, so, that's nice!

Of course I also got to travel! I promise myself every single year that I'm going to travel more, but I never really do. This year was the first time travelling on my own. I went to Barcelona with two of my friends from college and we stayed there for 5 days. We have seen and experienced some extraordinary things and I am so happy to have had the chance to go there! I also lost quite a bit of weight around that time, which I am very proud of as well!

Aside from all that, I have also been teaching this year! I actually get to tell kids history stories or make them do English exercises, which is a great thing! It's really weird being a teacher ànd a student at thesame time, and even though it's quite stressfull, I also think it's a lot of fun!

I've also been trying to improve the blog. 2015 was a year where - honestly - I struggled to keep the blog updated every once in a while. Sometimes I just want to participate in so many things that it's just too much and sometimes, I have learned, that I just focus on my priorities first.
I have been trying to spend more time on my blog, write more, write better and I also got a new camera! I got a Nikon D3300. After years and years of dreaming about a professional camera, I finally invested in it and I couldn't be happier!

The last change made in 2015 is the decision to move to another place! I would tell you something about it already, but I have a seperate post coming up, so that will be up soon.

Which changes are you going to make in 2016?

I'm going to invest more time in my blog, as well as school. I don't want to fail any of my exams this year. I'm going to plan more and better, and worry less. My decision of last year to travel more is something that I still want to do this year.
As a matter of fact, I have three days in Stockholm and one week in Rome coming up!
