H&M "Nudes" eyeshadow palette review

Last Wednesday I treated myself to a shopping spree. One of the first stores that I always go to is H&M. Normally, I can never find any makeup in there, but this time I spotted eyeshadow palettes! One for smokey eyes and one for nude eyes. I decided to take the little palette with me and see if it was something.

The "Nudes eyeshadow palette" by H&M comes in the cutest, lace printed packaging. It holds three colours that are perfect for an everyday, super simpel, quick and easy makeup look.
There's a matte white eyeshadow (browbone), a shimmery nude, skincoloured eyeshadow (lid) and a matte brown (crease).

Swatches! The pigmentation of the colours are actually pretty good. Especially light colours can be hard to work with but it looks alright, I'm pleasantly surprised.

I paid €2.95 for this product, which makes it a "budget must have" (well, for me it is). I would recommend to people who don't wear makeup often or who are just looking for an everyday, budget makeup palette.
Or if you're a makeup addict like me, you could get it as well, haha!

Haul: a few makeup products and a lot of The Body Shop

Since the sales have started, I've been wanting to go and check out what was left in the stores. Most of the time I only get basics, but every once in a while, there's actually something interesting to find. I decided to do that yesterday. After I succeeded my theoretical driver's licence exam (yay!) I took myself out for lunch and quite a bit of shopping. I thought the winter clothes were a little disappointing everywhere (the best had been picked out already but I still got a couple of nice things) but I got a lot of other stuff such as pants, skirts, summer clothes, clothes for exercising and .... makeup!

I actually got a little bit of makeup and a lot of The Body Shop goodies. Normally I don't purchase more than one or two products but there was a lot on sale so I decided to test out a couple of products. I got two body butters (love them!), three shower gels and one lip scrub. I should like the shower even more thanks to these products! I'll have a list below with all the products and prices!

EOTD: Ice Queen

I love wearing bright coloured eyeshadow. In winter I usually go back to the neutral browns and nudes because it's a bit weird to wear green, purple or orange makeup in such cold weather. However, yesterday I found a look with blue eyeshadow that I thought looked cute, so I decided to recreate it.

This look has five colours in it: white, light blue, darker blue, black and brown. I think it looks quite refreshing, actually. It does take up a little more time than other looks just because of the blending and re-applying eyeshadow. Now let's see the pictures! I have a lot of them (I really liked the look, hah!).

December favourites!

December has been the month of not wearing makeup to school because I was having exams (and no one looks good during exams so I didn't put a lot of effort in it either). December has also been the month of trying out different makeup looks for Christmas and New Year's Eve. I (re) discovered quite a few nice products.

The first item is my Maybelline Color Tattoo in "Permanent Taupe", I love this thing! I got it a little before Christmas and I've been using it nearly everyday since then.

I also used my Body Collection a lot in December. I got it a couple of months back but I only used it twice. Until this month, there are a lot of great colours in here for the holidays: gold, black, purple, olive green. Really nice pigmentation!

I also used my ELF 144 piece neutral eyeshadow palette often last month. Like I said, I tried a lot of different looks and almost all of them were created with the eyeshadows from this palette.

And of course I kept using my Nude 'Tude palette. Most of the time I use this palette for my makeup when I go to work. Or just when I need better pigmented colours like the black eyeshadow.

 

December is the time of the year to wear red lipsticks. Red lipstick is a tradition on Christmas Eve, well, at least it is for me! "Russian Red" by MAC is my favourite red lipstick.

Highlights of 2013 !

Hello everyone! 

It's been 2014 for a couple of days now but after doing an outfit review of 2013, I thought I would just go ahead and show you my personal 2013 experience as well!

As I said, 2013 was the year of me finally coming out of my shell and expressing myself as who I really want to be. I realised that, now I've started my last year in high school, I will most likely not have any super close relationships with any of the people there. So why should I be afraid of their opinion? It's just one more year. That was probably one of the biggest fears I've overcome in 2013.

We also brought a bit of new life into the world in 2013! Our cat had kittens again and our guinea pigs have been having a romantic time as well! Four little baby guinea pigs were born and they're absolutely beautiful.

Aside from the many births in our home, I also got a couple of fish. Just expanding the pet family a little. I love animals and I can watch my fish swim for hours, I can look at my cat washing himself for days and I just love seeing the baby guinea pigs eat together with their mom and dad, like a big, happy family. Yes, pets have been a big part of my life in 2013.

I tried a lot of new things in terms of makeup this year. Trying to improve and I think I've done well. I'm not there yet but I learned a lot. I also started making video and photo tutorials, which I love and I'm going to continue doing it this year as well!

2013 was also the year of my first big purchase: a new camera. It wasn't as expensive as the huge professional ones, but it was something that I had never bought before.
It didn't only come in handy for the blog, I also spent quite a bit of time photographing stuff in the summer.

And of course I travelled a bit in 2013. I love travelling and I want to do it a lot more. This year I'll be going to Prague with school and hopefully I can make a few trips in summer but I will never forget visiting Ypres and Paris last year. Ypres was especially impressive, I've always been into history (wars and such), and seeing all the graves was just overwelming. Quite hard to explain, beautiful and tragic at thesame time.

Paris is my favourite city so that was a lot more fun to visit! Even if it was only just for a day. I saw a lot of beautiful things and I learned quite a bit as well. Maybe one day I can return for a longer period of time, I hope so.

So that was a super short overview of 2013. Sorry for leaving the very, super duper personal stuff out but I just don't feel like putting EVERYTHING on the Internet for everyone to read.
Although I must admit I do share quite a bit with you guys already in my Weekly Diaries!
