True Match foundation review

A couple of years ago, when I was still a rookie at make-up, I bought my first foundation in Amsterdam.
It was the L'Oréal True match foundation. Back then I didn't know much about makeup, I thought every foundation had good coverage, but over the years I have tested a lot of foundations and I have learned that not all products on the market are good products.

Now, a couple of years later, the more experienced version of myself has returned to the L'Oréal counter to the True Match foundation again. I wanted to start using it again. Just because I have such good memories of it. Of course I don't want to keep my experiences from you.

I think the packaging of this foundation is cute. It's shiny with a lot of different fonts which makes it a little bit exciting. The only thing that you might perhaps have a problem is, is that the bottle is glass. I personally don't have any problems with that. Oh, and this foundation also has a pump which is so handy!

The colour that I got is called "Rose Beige". It's the second to lightest colour in the collection. I think the lightest colour would suit me a little better but when I do use a light foundation people ask me if I'm sick all the time.

Above you can see what the foundation looks like when it's just out of the bottle. It's not too cakey but it's also not too watery.
Below you can see what the foundation looks like after blending it out. The colour now looks like it suits me much more. It blends right in with my skintone and leaves no spots or dark areas. Right now

I can't show you what it does to acne because I don't have any at the moment (thank God!). Even though the coverage is quite nice, I do continue to use concealer underneath my eyes. What can I say, I have really bad, dark circles.

If you're interested, you can find this foundation in any drugstore!

12 Beauty Favorites of 2012

Goodmorning everyone, happy Saturday! I hope you're all doing well!

Today I'm going to show you my twelve favourite beauty products of 2012, so this is going to be a pretty long post, I guess.
2012 has been a great year for me, I got the chance to purchase some high end products and my collection grew a lot! That's probably because of the blog a little bit too, but I think it's great I get the opportunity to do this.
A lot of the products in this post were only recently purchased!

Also, this year Belgium (which is where I live) has got his own beauty box called "Deauty", I've done quite a few posts on this box so if you read my blog often you'll probably know this. Wow! The box is a true example for other boxes, the products were always high quality and in each box I found something that I liked in particular. I'm talking Essie nailpolishes, Clinique and L'oréal mascara's,...

The first product is the very first high end beauty product I ever purchased! It's the YSL Volupté Sheer Candy Glossy Balm. I got it in the beginning of September and I still use it on a daily basis!

This lipbalm by Kiehl's came in my October Deauty Box, which was the very first box I got. I have written a short review before, you can read it here.

Oh dear, this blush is the most perfect thing ever to me! Budget, but such a great product! Read a review here.

Another budget product: Essence quattro eyeshadow palette in "To Die For". I use this palette on a daily basis to create neutral looks, I like it very much, the colours are great and look fantastic when used together. You can click here to see my daily makeup look.

I've been using my L'oréal True Match foundation this whole year. I would repurchase it if I ever emptied mine. It blends in great and matches my skin colour just fine. Also the coverage is nice.

When I discovered this allround concealer palette by Catrice I was really happy. I know it's not a new product, however, I never really tried it. This palette holds five different concealer colours: green, pink and three skintoned colours (you can mix them to get the perfect shade for your skin colour). On the back, there's written what each colour can be used for. The concealers are very creamy and good for daily use. This palette is cheaper than if you'd buy five individual concealers! You can read reviews here. You'll also find some reviews of other products mentioned in that post.

I don't know if you noticed but I've been loving palettes! The next one on my wishlist is a palette by Dior, but for now I'm happy with the (drugstore) palettes that I have. This one is from Essence, it's from the sun club collection and it has the name "02 long beach". This palette holds a few "brighter" colours and a few neutral colours. Great for fall and winter. Very inexpensive as well and as you can see in the picture, the pigmentation isn't too bad either.

There's another sun club palette. The first palette "01 south beach", is a palette with a lot of shimmery, funky, bright colours. It's a palette that holds great colour for summer, such as bright yellow, blue, green, silver and gold toned colours. However, I haven't been using/loving that one as much as this second palette.

Do you remember this lipstick?! I only got it recently (last week, I think), and I hauled it already, click here for the shopping haul! A review is coming up as soon as possible! I really love this lipstick! So perfect!

Another lipstick I got! 2012 really was a "lipstick year" for me. I used to hate lipsticks because I thought eyeshadows were more interesting but after wearing red lipstick for a few days, my opinion changed! I really starting loving lipsticks. Most lipsticks I got this year were red lipsticks, because I fell in love with them.
This "Kiss Of Life" lipstick by Rimmel London (from the Kate Moss collection) was the last one in the store! God, am I lucky! It's the perfect red, I like it very much!

I haven't done a post on these two eyeshadow yet, but I will soon. These are the colours "Have you seen my unicorn" from the Fantasia collection, and "Swirl it, baby", from the Marble Mania collection. Both eyeshadows are by Essence and they look amazing when used together. Normally I like to use brown eyeshadows for my daily looks, but I've been wearing this combination quite a bit as well! I feel like this is a very safe way to experiment with colour. Also the baby pink is great because, unlike other pinks, it doesn't make me look like I'm dying! Great!

Another product I only recently discovered!
The Essence highlighter from their "Fantasia" collection. This highlighter is cheap, it's quite big (it's as big as my pressed powder), and it looks amazing! Again, a review is coming up very soon!

Et voilà, these were my twelve favies of 2012. Don't forget to let me know what your favourites were!

November Favourites!

Hello everyone! We've been December for a while so I wanted to do a post on my favourites of November. In November I tried out a lot of things, I emptied a lot of products and I loved a lot of products! I'm going to show them now.

The first thing is my Mega volume black smoke mascara by L'oréal. This came in my October Deauty box and made me so happy! I was running out of other mascara and I actually wanted to try one by L'oréal so it was the perfect timing! Lovely product! I really enjoy using it!
This mascara is extreme black and seperates my lashes perfectly. It also makes my lashes very long!

Another product that came in my October Deauty box! The Kiehl's lipbalm. I think that I'm going to empty it soon if I keep on using it as much as I do now. I really can't help it, it's an amazing product! So moisturizing, not sticky, just perfect!

Two palettes by Essence that I've been wearing and loving! The first one (above) is a palette with four neutral colours called "To die for" and the second palette (below) is from the Sun Club collection. It's in "02 long beach". Lovely fall colours! The pigmentation is great! They were both $3.91.
Super affordable!

This blush below, called "Apricot smoothie" was a gift from my friend, a beauty lover like me. I love how there's a red, shimmery part and a more orange toned part. I love blush because I'm pale myself, especially in winter, so this product is really one of my favourite products of these last couple of months. Also, I have a thing for cute names, and this one is so lovely! I like to use a little bit because the colours are quite bright, but if you wanted to, you could build up the intensity.

Well, well, well. You shouldn't be too surprised to see the YSL volupté sheer candy glossy balm in this post. Ever since getting it, back in September, I've been using and loving this. Expensive, but so worth the money. I love the packaging by the way! (Click here to read more about this product).

Another lipproduct! This jar filled with strawberry scented nourishing lipbalm is by Yves Rocher. I let my sister convince me to bring this home. Holy moly, that is one of the most expensive lipbalms I've ever got (basically because I normally just get the cheap drugstore ones- they work just fine). But okay, it's worth the price. Oh, and also, don't count on finishing this jar in a month, it'll take a lot longer, trust me!

Recently I had an acne break out so I was so so happy I had this allround concealer palette by Catrice to help me hide the blemishes!
This one comes with a green to conceal rednesses, a pink to conceal dark circles under your eyes and three shades of brown. You could mix the colours to get the shade of your skintone. This palette is a good buy because it costs a lot less than buying five different single concealers. Also, like all the other Catrice products, you can count on quality.

And last but not least: "Basic instinct" eyeshadow by New York Color (NYC). I use this as a highlighter and god, it is such a lovely colour!

October Favies! ♥

Hello everyone, happy Tuesday!
I know I'm a little late with this post but today I wanted to write about the products I loved and used a lot in October.

This first product is a mascara. I'm very picky when it comes to mascara's because I hate spending money on one when you can't even notice it. This is the L'oréal Mega Smoky Black (Volume 24h) mascara. It came in my October Deauty box. I was pretty excited to try it out because a lot of my favourite mascaras are often by L'oréal or Maybelline. So I was kind of expecting this to be a good product and it didn't let me down for sure. I have days that I only wear mascara and I get compliments on how long my lashes look.

Another product from the October Deauty box! I had never tried this lipbalm by Kiehl's before, in fact, I had never even used a lipbalm in a tube. But I decided to try it out because I was pretty curious, and also since it's getting cold, I could use some lipbalm every once in a while. Let's just say that I don't want to apply it because I'm afraid it's going to get empty. This lipbalm is very smooth and moisturizing. Also, I personally like how it looks on my lips, it's like I'm wearing a clear lipgloss.

This YSL Volupté Sheer Candy Gloss Balm was my first high end beauty product I ever purchased. I got it somewhere in September, I believe (or maybe it was at the end of August). First of all, I love how the lipstick looks. I already feel pretty when I look at it! Also, this glossy balm is very moisturizing, it's great to wear on a daily basis and you could build up the intensity of the colour (so if you don't like really bright lipstick or lipglosses, you could just put on one or two layers). Lovely!

Aaah, this blush by Catrice! I can't say anything negative about it! I love it so, so much! I did a post on it yesterday, so click here if you want to read it! (It's a lot more detailed)

This strawberry scented lipbalm by Yves Rocher is absolutely amazing! I love the smell, I love the colour, I love the product! Let me warn you, I didn't think I'd ever spend a lot of money on a lipbalm and after getting this I was regretting it already, but when I started using this I really fell in love with it after all.
(Oh and I don't mean it was like $50, I just mean that compared to my other lipbalms, this was probably the most expensive.) I also have a new raspberry scented lipbalm, again by Yves Rocher. I haven't opened that one. It looks a lot more pink than this one, almost like a Barbie pink!

In this picture, you see two lipsticks by Catrice. Actually the one on the left is my favourite one for the moment. I've been using it for a really long time now, it's a hot pink/ red lipstick that I absolutely love! It's called "Pink me up". Maybe not for everyone, because I'm pretty much the only one wearing hot pink and red lipstick to school, but oh well.
It would also look great if you were putting it on before going out!

My favourite fall palette! The Essence sun club palette called "02 Long Beach". This is the palette with more neutral colours, there's also another one that holds a lot of bright and shimmery colours. I recently wrote a post on this palette.

Another Essence palette! I think it's pretty obvious that I like Essence for their eyeshadows! This quattro was probably one of the most used palettes in October. I might have used it more than the Sun Club palette!
I love this palette because it holds four neutral colours that look good on every skintone, so no matter if you are pale or a little darker, these colours will probably look great on you! The pigmentation is good, it's easy to apply and as always, it is cheap. This palette is called "To Die For". It's one of my favourite neutral makeup palettes ever.

Let me know what you liked last month!
