How to wear a statement necklace ♥

As you might now, I've been loving statement necklaces lately. Statement necklaces really were a huge fashion trend in 2014 and I fell in love with it.
I got myself a bunch of statement necklaces since they started trending and I'm still expanding my collection.
Today I have a few tips on how you can wear statement necklaces!

Little black dresses are a basic, they should be in every woman's closet. They always say: "If you don't know what to wear, wear a little black dress."
I used to think that was stupid, but over the years, I've come to realise how true it actually is. I have many little black dresses now and I wear all of them quite often!

I love wearing statement necklaces when I'm wearing a little black dress. A statement necklace can make your whole outfit. With little black dresses, I usually pick a statement necklace that's a bit more colourful.
Of course you can also wear a colourful dress and still pair it with a statement necklace! (I have this beautiful orange dress and I love to wear my teal necklace with it).

I also love a statement necklace with jumpsuits. I don't own a jumpsuit, but they can look so classy (and it might not even take a lot of time to look like that!). A royal blue jumpsuit with a beautiful silver or gold statement necklace, maybe a blazer and a pair of heels and you're ready to go!

Statement necklaces also work on shirts (even when it's paired with a blazer), but I think they should be plain. Maybe an ombré shirt would be fun, stripes are okay and it also looks cute with lace, but the shirt shouldn't be too overwelming, because it might look messy. If you feel like a certain outfit looks good with a statement necklace even though it's covered in patters, by all means. This is just how I like to wear my statement necklaces.

And I also always like to make sure that the colours in my statement necklaces are colours that are also in the rest of my outfit - I like it matchy matchy.
Some people do, some people don't. My advice is just to go for what you like, what makes you feel good.

I hope you thought this post was useful! If you have more tips, please share them in the comment section below, I'd love to hear how you all wear your statement necklaces!

Have a good day!

HOW TO: depot your MAC palette

Hi everyone! A few weeks ago I bought my very first palette at MAC. I got two colours, just to try, but when I came home and I wanted to review them, I realised I only remembered one of the names.
What now?! I've been trying to open the palette but it wouldn't work. Today, I finally found the trick - and I know what the name of my second eyeshadow is now!

So, this is what we start with. Two colours in a palette.

Notice the edge between the pan and the palette. It's a teeny tiny space but you can get in between it if you want to. Now I'm not going to be using alcohol or heat to get it out safely. The only thing you need is something thin and sharp, like a nail file or a safety pin, tweezers, just anything you can get your hands on.

I used my tweezers for this. Both ends of my tweezers are very small.

So I used the "head" of my tweezers and pushed lightly on the edge of the pan. Very carefully so that you don't damage your eyeshadow colour. You'll see that once you pushed a little bit, the pan will come out a little bit and you'll be able to grab it.

I put my tweezers under it to prevent it from falling back into the palette.

And now you have depotted your eyeshadows!
That's how easy it is! I now know that the colour I forgot the name of is called "Honey Lust".

And the other colour is called "Bronze".

Little tip: if you want to be able to take out your eyeshadows easily without having to use your tweezers all the time, you can put some yarn in the spaces before you put the eyeshadows back in. Next time, you can pull both ends of your yarn and the eyeshadow will be out in no time!

I hope this post was useful! Reviews of the eyeshadows will be up soon! Thanks for reading!

How to look healthy when you're sick

Hello everyone! I hope you had a great day today!
If you've read my Weely Diary, you'll know that it was my first day going back to school since a one week break. I am still sick, and that's why today I thought of doing a makeup look in which I "faked" to look healthy. I'm going to tell you what I do to prevent looking ill.
Oh, and I also want to thank those of you who left me a sweet 'get well soon' comment. I appreciate it.

So here is what I look like right now even though I'm not feeling well at all. I don't have a "before" picture, simply because I forgot to take it this morning.

I know the lighting probably isn't the best but you can see that I made sure I had nice and pink cheeks, also I'm wearing a lipgloss by Catrice in this picture, it's called "Nymph's Glow" and it's a peach toned lipgloss. Honestly, I think it's the most beautiful colour in the world!

Okay so there are a few things that I change in my makeup routine, when I'm sick. Your foundation routine is still thesame but the only thing you have to pay attention to is the area around your nose. Don't put too much foundation or powder over there because you will blow your nose and if all the foundation and powder comes off, you have the risk of looking a bit weird.

Often when you're sick, your skin also looks a little bit more pale. So that's why, when you do your blush, you can add a little bit more if you want to.
I am very pale all the time (even if I'm not sick), so I love my blush, but now I even apply a teeny tiny bit more.

The next thing I do is to apply a highlighter. Normally I only wear it in summer when there's bright sunlight to reflect the highlighter, or I wear it to a party, but when I'm sick I also like to use it because it gives you a bit of a healthy glow - and that's exactly what you need when your skin isn't looking very well.
You could also mix a liquid highlighter with your daycreme before you apply foundation, it's all up to you, just get that glow.

The highlighter I'm wearing is from the Essence Fantasia collection.

The last thing I do is to make sure I'm not wearing lipstick. Since you want a healthy glow, you can go for a lipbalm that looks like a transparant lipgloss, or you can just go for a pink or peach toned lipgloss. Even though I love lipstick, I can't deny the fact that it's a no- go when you're sick.
Personally I really love the Kiehl's lipbalm, it has been one of my favourite lipbalms of all times!

Oh, I forgot to mention! I have a YSL lipstick that feels AND looks like a lipbalm. It's the Volupté Sheer Candy Glossy Balm. Of course you could use such lipsticks as well, because they're actually not lipsticks.

As for my eyes, I just went with my signature look, which is the winged eyeliner!

I hope you liked this post and I hope I helped other people who are sick!
In case you have somewhere important to go to, don't forget these tips!

Have a lovely evening!
